How about this analogy? Remember that show, Amazing Stories? Each Star Control game is like an Amazing story but here, they loosely tied together. There is a Star Control universe and in that universe you have the Ur-Quan and and Spathi but you also have the Scryve and also the aliens in Star Control 3. The DC universe has lots of things like that with things like the Watchmen and the Justice League existing in different universes but they all exist under the DC Universe.</p
[quote who="Kermamorjens" reply="66" id="3739436"] Quoting Bufohominum, reply 52 So what I don't understand is why when you only have the rights to the name Star Control, you all but remade SC2? If this hadn't become so acrimonious I imagine they wouldn't have decided to exercise (what they believe to be) their rights.&nbs
I bet there’s a helluva lot more fans who want a new Star Control than there are people who know or who care who programmed one of the versions decades ago. I vaguely remember some of the aliens and the slave shield thing. What I remember the most is exploring and meeting interesting characters.
Any eta for the next update?
I don’t envy you the balance act. Do you have a rough idea of how many people know of Star Control already versus the people who will be new? It begs the question, why did Stardock acquire Star Control if most people haven’t heard of it? What was the benefit since you aren’t relying on the SC2 lore?
What is "a long time"? Every post I just read there is new as of 3.0 and some aren't really bugs (having a shortage of food not causing starvation or something is a design choice, not a bug, it's not like Civ made my tanks not run if I had negative oil).
Like in other games, it just prevents you from building more.

I've been following the P&F's blog. They are in no position to complain about being insulted. Stardock has handled their rantings with a delicate touch and in response been slapped in the face.
[quote who="Quatloo" reply="17" id="3705119"] Also chiming in to say thanks to Greg. As a kid who started out on Mario and Sonic, Starflight blew my tiny mind. Years after my copy was lost in a move, I bought several copies on eBay until I managed to find the original manual and starmap. Thanks, too, for showing up to set the record straight on this rather transparent attempt to minimize Paul and Fred's roles as the creators of Star Control. It helps to hear the truth from som

NP. I don't remember these forums being so touchie.
Did you delete my comment?
Ugh. Why must feminism debates end in rape discussions?
The dead really seem dependent on starting location than others.
I cannot believe after all this time they still don't have a more robust way to delete leaders. I thought when they said they were going to use Steamworks that they would be making things better because of it.

HAHA. Update. The BF losers called me a sock puppet. I've got to be the only sock puppet to get publicly flogged by the fanboys on these very forums for flaming Elemental and Demigod as not being ready before release! I feel like I should be paying them for my entertainment.
