I have just noticed this today that Start8 displays my "Startup" folder as "Start-up". But if I browse to: C:\Users\[Username]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\ or C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\ the folder is "Startup", which is correct. I haven't noticed any issues with the programs in my "Startup" folder though.
It's the second last option under the Desktop menu.
Yes, Neil, the App Switcher.
v0.98 leaves the recent app in the top left corner of the Desktop now. I have to run my mouse over it a few times before it disappears.
I can't notice any speed difference in v0.98.
Start8 already does this...
How? If you are talking about Windows 8 Style, then that's not windowed.
You are a rude bastard, doortech1 . Have you ever thought of sitting behind your keyboard and being polite? There is already a thread about your type. Please treat people with respect.
Not so ridiculous had you been a member as long as they have. These are good, generous folk here and we look after each other. Stick around and you'll see that for yourself.
As I said, I can send lots of stuff, man, but as others have said, there comes a time to KISS your computer goodbye. Take care. PS: Yes, I am very generous. Nothing to do with generosity.
I wish the OP luck, but what a ridiculous thread on a Stardock forum. I could send lots of old parts, too, but it really is time to upgrade to a cheap new one.
Will it be possible to launch the entire modern UI start menu in a regular window too ? (the way it should have been)
Yes, it would be nice to able to have the Start Screen windowed as well. That way, we could do other things while still being able to view Live Tiles such as news and weather etc.
Right click on the application titlebar.
Thanks Neil. It works, but I noticed that I have to right click it a second time for the option to be displayed. I have even tried making sure that the window is properly focused before right clicking, but it still takes me two attempts. Also. The left hand app switcher still displayed the previous app for the first time I accessed an
Where do I find this right click option (below)? ModernMix > Advanced > Add a create shortcut on desktop option to the window right click menu. I don't notice any right click option anywhere?
I agree with you about the problem with the taskbar. Even when you make the icons smaller, the space stays the same. But what has this got to do with Start8? [e digicons]
It's there on their website to download. https://www.stardock.com/products/modernmix/
I most likely will later. Do you know if I have to get it directly from the site? It's not showing up in my object desktop list on my computer.
The website shows that ModernMix is part of Object Desktop. I'm not into the bells and whistles stuff, only the functionality stuff.
You should review ModernMix. I reckon that Windows 8 + Start8 + ModernMix = An excellent operating system. [e digicons][/e]
Any ideas? [e digicons]-_-[/e]
This is caused by Start8. I have reported this twice before in the Start8 thread and never had a response.
In the General Settings, the images are a little bit confusing except for the image that is actually titled "Fullscreen". I am assuming the other two images are "Maximized" and "Restored Down". Is that correct? Could we have titles on them all so we know exactly what they are? By the way. Great program. I just bought it.
Based on the feedback it looks like we should make it remaining in the list for ease of access an optional feature in future updates.
Thanks Neil. Having it remaining on the left side is very confusing and I shouldn't have to keep checking my Task Manager to see if it is closed or not.
OK. Thanks Neil.
This is my finding too. I would rather the app closed after clicking the 'X'.
Thanks for the reply, guys. I've installed it now and having a look. So far, it looks impressive.
Why are there 2 Xs? We have the Windows one and the Stardock one.
