How many computers is a single license valid for? I read on this forum that it is 2, but I bought a single license for each computer.

Has anyone had their computer shut down and restart since using Start8 v1.03a? I restored back to Start8 v1.03 and haven't had a problem since. I am not totally sure if it was Start8 v1.03a causing it, but my investigation seems to be pointing me to that.
Did you enable the full search option in Start8?
Yes.
Windows 7 search used to also search through Microsoft Outlook emails, calendar items etc., but I noticed that Start8 doesn't search through Outlook items. I found this feature in Windows 7 to be very useful. Could Start8 be made to search through Outlook also?
Here is a pic for you in case you didn't understand.
Under the "Configure" menu, I have "Administrative Tools" set to "Display as a menu". Now, if I browse the Start8 "Administrative Tools" menu then click out of the Start8 menu, then go back to the Start8 menu, you will notice that the display picture at the top is still displaying the "Administrative Tools" icon rather than the User's display picture.
If I click on the Windows 8 Menu at the top of Start8, then click the top left corner of the screen to go back to the Desktop, the last used minimized application opens instead of showing the Desktop. This only happens if I use the Windows 8 Menu at the top of Start8. Not if I use the Start8 button. So, to replicate the problem, open a few programs, then minimize them. Now, go to the Start8 menu and click Windows 8 Menu at the top of Start8.

OK. Thanks, Neil.
I recently bought a Microsoft Surface RT, and as you may know, you can only install programs and apps if they are in the Store. So, are you planning on developing a Windows RT version of Start8?

Yeah, that's a bug with the installer. There should be no need to uninstall each and every version prior to installing a new version. Just install the new version over the top of the existing previous version. And as for the installer bug creating multiple entries in "Programs and Features" instead of updating the existing entry. Until they fix it, you can easily remove an old entry without even going into the Registry. An old, but simple trick is th
I don't know about your licensing questions. In fact, I didn't even know I could use 1 license on 2 computers. But I can tell you that you do NOT need to uninstall the previous version prior to installing the new version. Just install the new version straight over the top of the previous version.
I see that v1.02 is available. Thanks. [e digicons]-_-[/e]
The best thing about Windows 8 is Start8 lol!
Yeah, Microsoft took away the best feature of Windows, and Stardock put it back.
In an earlier version, the bottom left corner of the screen right click [Windows 8] menu didn't work real well. But it is working well for me now. So, I hope that doesn't get messed with. It is an important Windows 8 feature not to be messed with.
I have not had the problem return since I cleared the icon cache.
Clearing the icon cache worked for me too, richardtrahar. Here is a handy little tool for anyone wanting to easily clear the icon cache. http://www.pretentiousname.com/miscsoft/index.html#ClearIconCache

In Windows 7, when you search via the start menu, it also searches through email, calendar items etc in Outlook. I found that very handy. Is it possible for Start8 to be able to do this in Windows 8?
