What I found is that every time I boot, "show desktop icons" is disabled and there are no icons / fences displayed. As soon as I enable the setting, the fences and icons appear. However, once I do that, I can't change the setting. No matter what I do, "show desktop icons" cannot be changed back to disabled; it's locked in the "enabled" state. Once I reboot, the setting is once again cleared and no icons / fences are visible until I change the setting. As a workaround this isn't

If I click on the ">" next to it, I get the options to restart, sleep, etc. My question is, how the heck do I change the default from Shut Down to something else like sleep? I used to be able to do that, but I can't find a setting for it in Windows 11. Thanks!
