bmetelsky , do you mean the normal Downloads folder? There is no Downloads Library on Windows7. Have you tried manually changing the Downloads folder within IP?

neophil78 , What is being listed under the Icons tab? The default path for icon is C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\Stardock\IconPackager however if you have a custom path set then the custom path will be used.

When you lost your icons, did you install the software through SDC or Impulse? and did you uninstall the software using the same? What version of IconPackager did you download and install when this happened?

Please try loading IconPackager and selecting the Settings page > Repair Shell Icons button (at the bottom). The Repair Shell Icons dialog should then be displayed, what option is currently selected?

Specifically where are you trying to download and install IconPackager from? Is it the actual install program prompting you with the error message or when you try and start IconPackager?

ramesese , I can now see what you mean. Its quite possibly an issue with icon packages that still use ICL files. Are you using Vista x86 or Vista x64? Specifically what version of Vista are you using?

Zubaz, if the user is running the same package each time, then simply running IconPackager.exe /apply "c:\something.iconpackage" would do what you need.

Shelbygt_the_Car~!, as you mentioned its only a temporary fix. You will need to wait until an update is released to fully address the issue. With regards to your other user accounts, this is a Windows limitation which we cannot get around. Windows has been designed like that since day one in the way common icons such as folders are stored in a common location in the registry.

What version of IconPackager are you installing and where are you installing it from? Please try loading IconPackager and selecting Tools > Repair Shell Icons and select the option to "Do not repair any shell icons on my computer". Reboot and see if that makes any difference?

DannyDPX, Simply deleting the below two subkeys should address the problem for you until an updated IP build is release. HKEY_CURRENT_USER, _T("Software\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Explorer\\CLSID"), Remove these 2 keys: _T("{2559a1f4-21d7-11d4-bdaf-00c04f60b9f0}")); _T("{2559a1f5-21d7-11d4-bdaf-00c04f60b9f0}") You will need to logoff and back on again for explorer to notice these changes.

Have you made sure you arent using the "Launch folders windows in a separate process" option? This will cause the default icons to be used by explorer. To check this load Windows Explorer and click Tools > Folders Options > View tab > and make sure Launch folders windows in a separate process option is unticked.
