Actually, I don't think it stops... it changes Volume... a LOT. Turn up the volume and load a game and you'll see.

Don't think I'd shell $5 for map packs. There are a lot of other things, mostly already mentioned here that I'd shell $5 for. More monsters and quests would be great - the monsters in the game get repetitive and after several play throughs, you eventually hit all the quests. Paradoxically, I'd probably also shell out $5 if it meant that the Cartographer's table was a lot more user-friendly. ;)

Uh, if I'm not playing beastlord ad I get the collar, I actively look for the Hoarder Spider on the map. Because Huge, Splash damaging spiders with 100+ HP are awesome.
Propaganda adds to your CITY'S gold. The gold you get is what you tax your cities at. If you tax them 0%, you will not get any gold from them. This is not a bug.

Often I don't even know what city is getting leveled because the name isn't on there and I can't move the popup or the map to see what's underneath it. I can't tell you how many times I've accidentally turned a planned Fortress into a City, and vice versa because I couldn't tell what I was leveling.
Oh god, I&#

This patch needs to get released soon - between this and the Load crashes and the Quest Maps fix, I think basically everything on my list that not balance-related (which I'll fix in mods, anyway) will be checked off.

You have to have Altarian Blood (Make your race altarian). It's not a trait that can be associated with any other blood... Yes, that's dumb
Get your mage a nice champ. If possible, get the Quest that gives you igny's shortbow. Equip your mage with it and kep him/her out of the fight until about lvl 5 Then start using Flame Dart.

Eh - none of the reviews I've seen even touch on what I consider to be the biggest flaw of the game, which is that making troops is often a really poor decision. This is what is the disconnect between Heroes and cities, I feel - your Sov and Champs do everything and your cities are only there to support the gold and mana the heroes need, which feels shallow. If I could adjust it (maybe I can - haven't looked in), practically everything would cost 25% less to build, regul

Go to the game options and turn off "Auto Turn", which ends your turn as soon as the game things you've got nothing left to do. It's especially annoying when you have units stationed in cities with movement points left because the game thinks that these units are supposed to just sit there.
It's been noted in the change log for 1.01 that these are supposed to be fixed. That patch is supposed to come soon
I think it took me a while to realize how badly the unrest situation that occurs in practically every city you build was affecting production. The fact that it's very hard to connect cities without spamming pioneers just to get rid of the 15% unrest doesn't help, but I was surprised that I could not set taxes to anything less than 40% without setting it to 0%. Maybe I missed something, but seriously, is the math too hard or something. Many times when I get a Hero with the
My only frustration comes from the 15% unrest that comes with not being connected to the capital, which often is simply because there are no spots to settle that after a ZOC update for each still won't connect them. And of course, to correct the problem, you need more pioneers to spam outposts which btw, will take longer because of the 15% penalty to construction.
The worst is Emnity. I have to check the XML if it's really rare because it shows up all the freaking time. There are simply too many traits that are not good. It'd be much more fun if there was always a difficult choice of good traits rather than what it is now, which is on some paths often simply picking what's either necessary or not awful.
I'm having a difficult time with this game, because no matter what map size I choose, I have a very hard time keeping up with the enemy, because they all have several cities, and I (no matter how long and tirelessly I search) can't find any damn spots to build cities, only outposts. The problem is that I have very small things being build/trained/produced because (if I'm lucky) I'll only have found one extra spot I can
