Thanks, Basj, that's very helpful.

I bought and installed Fences. I don't recall seeing mention of "Portal" Fences.
I'm assuming a second copy of a folder is created when it's moved into a fence. If so, that burdens my C: drive. A pointer is simply a URL or link to the original folder.
When I tried to delete a folder in a fence, it seemed to suggest that the original folder would be deleted. What I'm trying to establish is whether Fences copies a folder into a fence, thereby creating a second copy of the folder.
Or would I have to put the pointers into a folder and put that into a fence?
In Program Files, Fences seems to be including the size of the fenced files.
I had concluded that the software was corrupted and tried to uninstall it, but it couldn't be found, so I reinstalled it and rebooted. The problem went away. Thanks for your reply anyway.
I'm running Start11 on Windows 10 Pro, using the Windows 7 style. The sub style is also Windows 7. At some stage recently, this style changed, to the extent that I can no longer find the link for advanced administration (which include Computer Management, Event Viewer, etc). Also, icons have appeared in a grid in the right-hand column. To make matters worse, the Run command is missing, as is Search. I've restarted the system twice, but the Start11 configuration remains unaffected.
Basj, I'm creating a number of fences, but what goes where is something I've yet to get right. The feature I've mentioned would have helped me.
Let's say I have two separate fences, A and B. Each has two or more files in them. I want to create a fence, C, that can encapsulate A and B. I want each to remain separate within C. I hope that's more helpful.
Is it possible to have two fences containing tabs combined in a single fence while remaining as discrete fences?
Aah! I didn't know about the Tick. Now it all works. Much appreciated. Thank you.
Using Configure, I moved two pages so that they would be next to each other. They became greyed after the move and no longer show. I've never had this issue before. Any way I can get these to display again?
That did the trick! Thanks, Basj.
No change, unfortunately. Here's a snapshot: I also noticed that Outline Fence areas has no effect. The screen colour is black, so maybe the outline is black, too?
Ended up removing Tiles and installing Fences.
1. Win 10 20H2 Build 19042.804 2. 3.0.9.11 3. 1920x1080, 150% for text. 4.
The labels for the icons are overlapping. Is there a way to increase the spacing between the icons?
I've installed Tiles 1.2 on a new PC . When I create a shortcut and move it to the Tiles bar I get a rubbish name that links to nothing. I had this issue some time ago but I can't remember how it was resolved. I'm running the latest version of Windows.
I must have been misled by the Word and Excel examples in the promotional video. I have Fences but discontinued using it in favour of Tiles.
I didn't close any of the web pages, so I expected them to still be open when I restarted the group. Seems it doesn't do that. The PDF issue is the big one for me, as grouping selected PDFs with certain applications is what I was hoping to do.
I resolved that problem but was beset by others. For example, I would add other windows (confirmed by the little message that appeared), click Save to the group, and then after I closed and reopened the group, find only the original pages were there. Also, I couldn't add PDFs to the group. It just didn't seem to recognise I was adding a window, yet it was fine with a Word or Excel document.
I ran into so many issues trying to add to and save groups, I decided I was spending far more time than I should be on the program when I have far more important things to do, so I've uninstalled it. Groupy is a great idea but it doesn't seem to work for me.
That was the missing link. All good now. Appreciate your patience and perseverance! Many thanks for your help.
I don't seem to have a Windows title bar, just the tab. and I get the feeling I'm missing something obvious here.
