Start11 Windows 7 Style

I'm running Start11 on Windows 10 Pro, using the Windows 7 style. The sub style is also Windows 7. At some stage recently, this style changed, to the extent that I can no longer find the link for advanced administration (which include Computer Management, Event Viewer, etc). Also, icons have appeared in a grid in the right-hand column. To make matters worse, the Run command is missing, as is Search.

I've restarted the system twice, but the Start11 configuration remains unaffected.

It sounds like something may have glitched in your Start11 configuration or possibly reverted to a different layout. Here are a few things you can try:

  1. Reset the Start11 style manually:
Open the Start11 configuration tool and reselect the Windows 7 style and substyle again. Even if it appears selected, try reapplying it — this can sometimes correct layout issues.

  2. Check for updates:
Make sure you're running the latest version of Start11. Updates often fix bugs like missing commands or layout problems.

  3. Customize the right-side panel:
In the Start11 settings under the Windows 7 style, there should be a section to manage what appears in the right-hand column. You can re-enable things like the Run command, Search, and administrative tools from there.

  4. Backup and reset configuration:
If nothing else works, try backing up your current settings (if possible), then reset Start11 to default settings and reconfigure from scratch.

Let me know if that helps — happy to dig deeper if needed.

Please post your OS version (run winver for that, please) and also Start11 version.

One thing you can try on your own is to

  1. uninstall Start11,
  2. reboot.
  3. Download a fresh copy from https://store.stardock.com/myaccount/products
  4. Re-install, and reboot immediately (important).
  5. Retest your Start11 and please report back here.

I had concluded that the software was corrupted and tried to uninstall it, but it couldn't be found, so I reinstalled it and rebooted. The problem went away.

Thanks for your reply anyway.
