Appendum: I am able to construct a tiny constructor with my shipyard but apparently I don't yet have the tech for it. So it seems that a ship design that I made in a previous game is available to me prematurely.

Early in the game, I purchased a tiny scout ship from another civ with the intention of upgrading it to a tiny constructor however this seems to no longer seems possible. Upgrading purchased ships to constructors is how I usually extend my range early in the game.
I find the "You know what you did" mesage less than informative.
Is Any way to get a fight (not flight) simulator with the designer, where we could build a mock fleet to test against a fleet of ships of a type currently on the game board ? I'm thinking of doing this to test the performance of a new ship design. Sometimes for example, I can have a incoming fleet of ships and all I have are a couple of cargo ships I have to modify to meet them. However cargo ships have low HP so re-designing them to fight c
If the civlization obtains the starbase they may not want it destroyed anymore or they can choose to decomission it. However I can see a case where a player might consent to destroying the base but wouldn't want the civilization using this starbase for example if it is a military starbase.
Occasionnally, a pop-up will appear where a civilization will tell you. The presence of a starbase such and such in our ZOC is against our interest please remove it. Followed by a yes or no option. Now this popup does not identify clearly which civilization is demanding this. We don't see the representative of the civilization nor do we see the logo of that civilization. It would be a lot better if the diplomacy trade menu was used and t
Looks like Mojo the X-Men villain from Marvel Comics. http://static.comicvine.com/uploads/original/1/15659/2657747-mojo_annihilators_earthfall_1.jpg http://www.superostrich.net/recent/mojo/mojo_wip_14.jpg
- For the range tech I think the number of squares covered should proportional to the map size. This way if a Ion engine can cover 1% of a large map, it should cover 1% of a tiny map so that the feel of the game would be the same. Crossing from one corner to the other would take several moves. - With the A.I as it is now, if I have a planet that is about to rebel and join another civilization and I am unable to reverse this with approval/influence modu
I see this sometimes in the diplomatic option when looking on the status of relations of the different civilizations. What is probably meant is: "They are in a war frenzy". Unless that message is meant as a tribute to: "All your bases are belong to us"...
No, I took out the entire civilization. I also had the "flip proofing" from the malevolent ideology and the population was shown at 100% happy. The rebellion status percentage has not budged in over 30 moves the percentages are the same one at 72%, one at 2% one at 11% one at 49%.
Maybe if the hexagonal tile was changed in some way. Perhaps raising it the way that a push button is raised when it is un-clicked ? Pehaps changing the color of the hexagon from dark gray to a color which differs from the ship's color. I tend to play the game zoomed out. It's a bit of a shame because there are some very nice visual effects that occur when you zoom in on the game like the sun and the individual starbases but you really need the whole
Are you.......are you giving them programming lessons?
Not lessons, suggestions that is the point of evaluating the beta. I've been an analyst programmer for 21 years professionally, but I started programming in machine language, assembly & Basic when I was a kid during the 1980's so I've some experience. I mostly do work on billing systems, data conversions and dot.net. So my suggest
Could this be the result of some species specific hability ?
Bullets and Missles when shot in space for all intents and purposes have near unlimited range. There is no air to cause friction which slows them down. In the current battles missles are shown as going round and round which does not make sense. They should go in straight line in the absence of a gravity field which would alter their trajectory. When using a guidance system (for missles), the trajectory would get ajusted with side thrusters to adjust the trajector
I have opened ticket: #YVH-606-67743
The Alterians are genetically humans so spying between these two civilizations should be easier. It would be very difficult for a Drengin to pass for either. I suppose a civilization could construct a battle suit that would enable them to temporarely pass for Yor but someone could not wear it for extended periods.
How do I check my era ?
RSharaE's suggestion would also work for me. To some extent, when we click on "idle ship" we the ship's name, but there isn't always a visual effect to show us where it is. I sometimes have to zoom very close to the map, then click on "idle ship" to see where it is.
I did not try those; It wasn't something intuitive to try. ( In browsers for example people use the + / - keys) to make the fonts bigger.
Still the civillian starbases in enemy territory should have some diplomatic tensions even if its hey that base is in my space i want you to pay rent.
Look at it this way, as a friendly race, you get the benefits of having the star base there, but you don't have to pay maintenance on it anymore.
As it sits right now you purchase colony ship, it remains fully loaded with the other races colonists so if you colonized a planet, why wouldn't it then be colonized for that other race?
It would be members of the other race who choose to become members of your civilization. Not unlike how ships in the days of piracy a ship could be crewed by deserters or criminals for the purpose of starting a new life.&n
This doesn't correlate well with the usual 4X game mechanism of stealing enemy tech via analysis (which I absolutely love to do, btw) . The real world is kind of ugly that way. Just imagine if you're a bunch of Intel combat troops and you capture an Apple Mac fighter. What do you learn? To be more Mac-like? [e digicons][/e]
To use your eample, someone capturing an Apple Ma
I think that
The krynn can do that, its said they can trade while at war in their tech tree.
The Krynn can trade with other civilizations while at war however I do not believe that they can open a trade root lets say between the Altarians and the Drengins. If trade ships going on my worlds are attacked because I am at war, I should have a way to make money with a trade route which does not involve my
