Purchased starbase from a Race should not affect relations

When I purchase a star base from a race in its space and I don't have a open borders treaty, it should not affect my relations with that race.   A Star Base cannot be moved, and my purchase of the star base from its original owner is with their approval so it stands to reason that the star base would stay where it is.   As it is now, the race that sold me its star base gets annoyed that it is within their borders.   For one thing, the presence of that star base can be what makes it possible for me to open a trade route with the race in question, which is something which benefits both.

Even if it were a military star base, there is no reason for the race to be upset unless I send armed ships within the border as military star bases do not attack by themselves.   (Perhaps, the sold star base would be "upgraded" to contain no military technology when sold.  Upon purchase if it is within the borders of the race it is being purchased from, then the installation of a hostile technology by the purchaser would cause annoyance:   Hostile tech being:  Conversion (brainwashing) tech and/or military/defense.

Non-brain washing tech such as entertainment centers, shopping malls should not be considered as hostile.

I could see players exploiting the annoyance for a foreign star base within the border being abused by players specifically purchasing a star base from one race and giving it to another race in order to get that race to attack the new owner of the star base.

Hopefully at some point the AI will be able to tell the difference between civilian and military ships/starbases. Freighters, colony ships, constructors, scout ships, and economy amining starbases should at least cause less of diplomatic issue than armed ships and starbases.

Still the civillian starbases in enemy territory should have some diplomatic tensions even if its hey that base is in my space i want you to pay rent.

I agree with the original post that there is no reason for you to get upset, because you sold it to me. If you were going to get so but hurt why sell it to me in the first place. That's like saying the Russians are ticked off at us for selling us Alaska.

Look at it this way, as a friendly race, you get the benefits of having the star base there, but you don't have to pay maintenance on it anymore.

yes but depending on what kind of base for example mining now you are getting the resource for something that is in my space and i consider that resource to belong to me. therefore you should pay me rent for using it...

i think im going a little off of the OP since i mean this more as a general thing for starbases rather then starbases ive sold to another race..

I like the idea of charging per turn also. If you don't want me to have the resource don't eell it to me, which I think the ai should say no anyway. There should still be tension when I'm in your territory except when you sell me a piece of property.
