Map Editor Trouble in Galactic Civilizations II Stardock Forums

So I've been trying to use the map editor to make some maps, but no matter what I do they never show up in the game. I'm making a map, randomly generating it, setting a planet as homeworld for "custom", saving the map to the mymaps or custom maps or what ever folder within the game, and nothing shows up. Am I missing a step? Do I need to assign homeworlds for everyone? Am I saving to the wrong folder?

I have a custom race saved and I'd like to give them their own set starting system rather than the random one. I looked through the races file, but I see no mention of my race in there. How do I specify the Baronian Union to have their own system? edit I see "custom default" in the planets folder, and custom race in the races folder. These would set a custom homeworld for ANY custom race? What if I have more than one custom race? Is it not posible to make a custom system f

How do you mod galciv to change these things? I used to make balanced defence ships and I'd always worry about if I had the right defence against my enemy's chosen weapon type. I thougth this was important, but when I abandoned defence research all together, I found I won a lot more, it made me sad! So what's an easy tweek we can add to fix this?

Dread Lords are back event in Dark Avatar GalCiv2 Forums

Hey there, I just got Dark Avatar and have been enjoying it, but I'm not noticing that much different from galciv2, then again I haven't played it for about a year. Durring my game I got a cut-scene and an event saying the dread lords had returned to take over the galaxy. I became excited, something was going to finally happen in my game. Many turns went by and nothing happend. I was playing on small galaxy and could pretty much see everyone's territories and had scouts everywhere.
