What was the new update about that I received? I can never find this information in the change log.
rap33042
I just finished playing for several hours and the pathfinding problem seems to have disappeared!! Yea!! Thanks, SD!

I have had Civs on the verge of declaring war with me, then if I buy a ship from the Bazaar that has some high hit points, suddenly, everybody is my best friend! How about that... ;-) It can be anything useful-- Ysengaard will do the trick during the early game. I think the game only looks at hit points to determine an opponent's strength., If so, that's a limiting factor for the game AI and that's probably why the AI Civs make dumb mistakes.
Hi, I've also been finding the path finding rather wonky as the pathfinder tries to use hyperlanes even when quite inappropriate. Incidentally, if you're stupid or rather inobservant enough to build a hyperlane too near a black hole as I've just been then pieces may get immobilised when you try to move them past the blockage. Obviously I can fiddle around with this but a mild pain. Would it be poss
Will this patch require a new game to be started for the changes to take effect?
This has never even occured to me. Can you attack a Commonwealth? If so, take the planet.
Thanks for the head's up on some of these. That consluate exploit was huge! Trying to get the beta for 3.7 up today but we're having server issues getting things uploaded.
Frogboy, thank you for all your work but writing is not your strong suit: "head's" is not possessive in this case-- heads-up "consluate" is not a word as far as I know :-) I mean it about
In this latest 3.7 update, it seems that pathfinding has improved. The ships now seem to follow the path indicated on the map. At least, they do a better job of it than before. As noted above, during wartime this is an important detail.
Being new to the game, I didn't realize I had to study that tech. That was the trick. Thank you! [e digicons]:)[/e]
Glad I could help...
This the first time I've seen this but there is a Civ who is so happy to see me nearly every turn. We've known each other for a long time and have even traded some goods. Maybe he is having short-term memory lapses? -- The messages have been getting overwritten like this for a while now-- very frustrating, indeed. Richard
Hi Pshaw! I'm sure glad you put the Morale back in the Planet list. I still don't see the planetary auto-upgrade option to change its default behavior. That one really annoys me. I just want a little toggle switch in the Settings to be able to have it default to On or Off when I set up a game. Thank you for all the hard work your SD team is putting into this game!! It's great fun!! :-) Richard
I haven't gotten to the campaigns yet so this is just a guess. Build a Transport and take the planet?
Money is also important. I find that funds are really tight. Its hard to have many things with maintenance costs. Hard to maintain a navy with large ships. If someone knows a way to get more funds, I'd love to hear it.
I'm usually in the black well before turn 60 and am making tons of credits by turn 100. Here's what I do: I build that Paxton(sp?) building as fast as I can. I put the import/export cent
In my current 3.6 Retribution game I called a space monster via artifact some 30 turns or so ago. Since then it just sits there where summoned and does nothing. It completely ignores foreign and my own ships and hasn't moved a single tile. It's titled as "Pirate Queen xxx", but doesn't behave like a normal pirate. What is your experience which such summoned space monsters?
I have had the opportunity to use this type of artifact only
When I first heard about hyperlanes, I thought they would work along the lines of wormholes. That is, they would have one entry point and one exit point. That is not how they were implemented -- you can enter a hyperlane at any point along its path -- like a road and not a tunnel. I wouldn't mind expending the resources to guard my gates but I certainly don't want to station ships all along its path to protect it from what I deem to be interlopers. This approach could become ter
Has anyone tried to use a hyperlane that you don't own or seen an AI use one of yours?
Yes-- and I don't like it. I originally planned to use them to quickly bring fleets into enemy territory but once I learned the enemy can also use them, that plan was foiled. The owner of the hyperlanes should be the only Civ that can use them, with the possible exception of allies and/or team members.
Hi All, When a Diplomat is "planted" in the Diplomatic screen, there is a notification which states, "Recent assignments will take effect next turn". The next turn, it doesn't go away. In fact, it never goes away. The Diplomat is doing his/her job; you can tell because it is influencing the other Civ's view of you-- they like you more. I just wish that notification disappeared when it no longer has any meaning. Thank you, Richard
It is tiresome to remember to do it with each colony founding. Makes more sense as a toggle on for developed worlds. I am however thankful they made projects repeatable.
I don't use the Repeat button. It's too easy for me to forget about it when a new building or tile becomes available. I just click the Build button half a dozen times. That way, I'm not bothered every turn, but I'm still reminded that the planet
Hi Basj, I don't know if this will help, but when I hover over the Star, the link it points to is, "https://forums.stardock.com/subscriptions#". Richard
Please please please change the auto upgrade selection for techs to default to off. I hate changing that for every one of my colonies only to find one that is stuck upgrading a factory to the latest and it will take 70 turns.
This is intended behavior, added with 3.5 or 3.6. The game no longer rounds up or down in certain elements of the UI like it used to and give flase information. Its actually a welcome bug fix.
Agreed!
Well, I just download and install Waterfox, and that star still show dropdown menu, when I click on it. It unsubs me from this thread. I have forwarded your problem to Stardock Support team for their assistance. Please keep an eye on this thread for any updates. We appreciate your feedback and patience. Hi Basj, I disabled all add-ons except LastPass-- no joy :-( Clicking on the Star in my subscription list does nothing. There are a couple of subscriptions that I'd like to stop watching, but the only option I have is to unsubscribe from all of them and that is not my first choice, Richard PS I use Waterfox as my default browser.
