a lot of my icons have now changed to blank images
Join the club! I was able to get most of my icons back, but not all of them. I hope that you have better luck then I had!

Hi, I had a similar experience, But my Icons went "good-bye" during the installation. Like you, I was able to recover most of my Icons except the MS office icons. There is one person from Stardock (that I am aware of) that is looking into this problem "Bagginz" is his ID on this forum. I would also open up a problem ticket with Startdock. I wish you "good luck"
HaywoodU - I believe you have made your point in several postings that you have had issues with your icons after installing ObjectDesktop. You have received support from members and Stardock support to try and resolve this problem.
Hankers, Not sure that I have made my point! 1) I do thank everyone on here who tried to help! 2) I decided to quit because, Stardock was not giving me the "warm & fuzzies" that they knew what was going on with the Missing Icon's!<b
You are not the only one! I Paid and installed Objectdesktop, and by the time it finished installing my Icons were gone! Stardock advice was to uninstall and re-install. Did a vista uninstall and it left dir's and sub dir's and reg. entries behind. I was finally able to restore most of my icons. Then I decided to quit while I was a head. Was able to get a full refund, but it will be the Last product I ever buy from Stardock!
Well It looks like I was inducted into the "I Lost My Icons Too" club, When I installed ObjectDesktop". As soon as the installation was complete, most of my icons went on vacation and turned "white/empty". Stardock had me do an un-install which left dirs and sub-dirs and reg entries behind. Then they had me run odnt_zapper, which is their un-install utility. That did not work. Then they want me to muck-around in regedit and manually remove entries and delete dirs and sub-dirs. Bottom line, it to
Can I assume you did none of that?
Yrag, You assume correctly! I will give it a try this evening. Thanks
Sorry Pixeleo, I am lucky if I can spell my own name correctly!
Thanks Pixelo, But Ccleaner does not list "Objectdesktop or MyColors" as an installed program.
I was able to recover all of my icons except the Microsoft Office Icon's (word, exel, etc.) So I am willing to move on from here. (new post) I have tried using Vista's Uninstall, and I have run odnt_zapper, but like my ex-wife, ObjectDesktop "just won't go away!" c:\programfiles(x86)\stardock\Mycolors, c:\programfiles(x86)\objectDesktop\ dirs and sub dir's are still there. Besides "mucking" around in regedit, and deleting the above dir's any other ideas on how&
"What....you thought we were just another "The money's on the nite stand, have a nice life" forums.......?" Nahhhh, never crossed my mind. LOL
Hey, you are all good for sticking with me on this.... It's a nice little Community you got going on here
Yrag, U R a good sport for sticking around and always offering to help! How do I clean this up? tnx
Well I Give up! I downloaded & ran odnt_zapper I marked off the Objectdesktop related software. I did an apply it showed all clean, until I acually went to c:\programsfiles(x86) \Stardock\Mycolors\Objectdesktop\deskscapes\LaunchPad\loginstudio\windowblinds are all still there & their sub dir's (yes I rebooted the PC) And if I run the zapper again, it shows the same app's as before I run the zapper. It thinks it's doing something, and If I listen really car
Yrag, A few weeks ago I installed LogonStudio and it has worked/ still working well. Should I put back the default "Vista" logon screen before running odnt_zapper? Should I also remove LogonStudio?
Update; I did the uninstall of Impulse and ObjectDesktop using the uninstall in control panel\programs & features. But it seems to have left behind neumerous dir's, sub dir's and files under c:\ProgramFiles(X86)\Stardock And the following are still listed under the "all programs", Startdock, ObjectDesktop, ObjectDesktop LaunchPad" Not sure if further cleaning is required before I try doing a re-install.
Yrag, for what it's worth, Thanks With any luck, I'll have good new to report later when I get home.
I just spoke to a very helpful (& understanding) support type person "Dave" from Stardock support. He is sending me a email with instructions to try. It turns out (I am hanging my head in shame as I write this) that I may have Interpreted the original instructions incorrectly. (In orther words) I really screwd up big time! I zigged when I should of zagged. I will let you know the outcome of this. Thanks to everyone who took time to respond.
Yrag, Thanks for your reply. I DID NOT "do it my way" and I would be the first to admit if it was "user error". I would like to think that I followed the instructions provided as per the email that were sent via STARDOCK in their payment confirmation email along with the S/N. Stardock gave two different links for downloading the software in their email. The links Stardock provided were not labeld 1) correct way, and 2)incorect way Not sure why you are taking it personally
try: anything you installed with impulse, use impulse to unistall, reboot then either uninstall, reboot, reinstall impulse (or just open impulse) & register your Object Desktop serial, then try downloading installing (rebooting) and running one app at a time
"Put your left hand in, put your left hand out, shake it all about" LOL Sorry Bichur, There was way too many uninstalls and reinstalls in your last email. I do thank you for your help, but I am g
Popollo, I feel your PAIN! https://forums.wincustomize.com/320694 My icons went "GOODBYE" after I installed "ObjectDesktop". You are not alone, we may not have the same exact problem but we share some of the same symptoms. I hope Stardock gets back to us soon!
Thanks Philly. I am not sure if this is an Impulse or a ObjectDesktop problem (or a combination of the two). I decided to wait until I hear a solution from STARDOCK because it seems there are a number of people who have has similar problems and Stardock MUST have a solution by now. I keep you psoted.
Bichur, yes, I am aware that ObjectDesktop" is a suite of applications & that Impulse is a separate app. BUT, it seems that Impulse was bundled in with the "download" of ObjectDesktop. I used the "download" link that was sent in the Stardock purchase confirmation email to download ObjectDesktop. I was never givien a choice to download or not download Impulse! After the download, the installation started. Impulse was added to my desktop automaticly. None of the App's asked for a S/N du
Another clue? Icon Packager does not start!
Yes I did open a trouble ticket (only one LOL) unlike my numerous posts here (out of frustration). For what it's worth Hank, I do appreciate your replys and advice.
