now i changed the skin i was using and it work. is this an issue with only some skins?

OK so i am a big time gamer and a big time modifier. So recently i downloaded DesktopX, Object Dock, and Windowblinds. After installing these and getting everything tweaked out the way i would like. I went and tried to run CS but i got a message saying that it couldnt run on current video settings. I was able to get it to open in "window mode" but was not able to get it to open any other way. I then went back in time and removed everything i added and now CS works. Can anyone help me
