Issues with Counter-Strike

OK so i am a big time gamer and a big time modifier. So recently i downloaded DesktopX, Object Dock, and Windowblinds. After installing these and getting everything tweaked out the way i would like. I went and tried to run CS but i got a message saying that it couldnt run on current video settings. I was able to get it to open in "window mode" but was not able to get it to open any other way. I then went back in time and removed everything i added and now CS works.

Can anyone help me out and let me know what could have caused this and if there is a way of fixing it.

Thanks,

MF

Windowblinds configuration > Settings Tab > Change the look of an app > add per application > total exclusion for the executable for counter strike

It is possible that UIS2 skins can interfere with a game but it's very unlikely, especially with something like Counterstrike which is so widely used.

Putting Counter-Strike and/or Half-Life on exclusion should resolve any problems though. I run a number of HL mods, run a number of skinning/modding application and have never had any major problems with them. I exclude some games from being skinned more on principle than anything else.

As support I often recommend adding games to the exclusion list. With so many heavily modified UIs then can sometimes play badly with other skinning applications. Most games are full screen so this does not even come up too often. Some Window Friendly games like World of Warcraft don't even bat an eye so it really is game to game. If you ever get that same problem in the future though support would always like to hear about it so that we can test the reason why. Please contact us at support@stardock.com.
