Well in theory this sort of thing should only be possible with a mod (which everyone muse have installed) or through exploiting a bug in the game.
Well no, that's wrong. The point I was trying to make in my original post is that just because something is peer to peer doesn't mean it's imune to hacking. If I attack you and on my machine I do 1,000,000 damage and on your screen I do 250 damage it will cause a desynch cause on mine your dead, on yours you're
So what happens if player A buys an item on his game that he couldn't actually afford with hacks. Does player B, C and D actually check that player A can buy that item when his client tells each of them he just has?
No-name studios is not a bad thing.... i mean how many of you had heard of Bungie before Halo? Even studios that have made games before can be pretty much no-names yet they can easily make good games. EA on the other hand is well known... and makes bad games (not allways, just exageratting (sp?)).
You bring a tear to my eye man! Bungie was massive before Halo, originally big with Marathon, but not that big, it blew people out of the water with the Myth series, O
Looks like it could be great. I never get too hyped about movies coming out unless it's something like Sin City or 300 where I can see they have been faithful to the source material. Unknown new stories cannot be judged from trailers, I'll wait for the critics/publics reactions, ie. after all the fake imdb reviews.
The best thing about forum fuckwits is they are always so willing to show everyone who they are.
The best way to Beta Test is to play the game, LOTS. And report everything odd that you find unless it is listed under some known issues area. If you don't report something because you assume that everyone else is experiencing the problem then you are a useless Beta Tester. Related obviously, but check known issues before reporting! Also in terms of gameplay, try the extremes of things, attempt to do things quickly and see what happens, see if you can buy stupid amou
Splinter Cell started on X-Box and as such was designed for a console. It's hardly a complex game.
In Left 4 Dead these days people say "gg" just to say "We won!". You can tell they don't actually mean "gg" cause they will use it when the tank starts at the safe room and you score 23 points before you are totally stomped. "good game"? Are you taking the piss? I love how people try and come up with seperate definitions for Newb and Noob. Noob came about in my Counter Strike days and was just following a trend of creating words by
Let's not be silly, it's nowhere near beta status, it's pretty solid in most respects. There are some glaring issues though that have seen next to no change since release.
Now they got Mechwarrior back on its feet, can we get a Tie fighter up or X wing or hell BOTH!?!?! [e digicons][/e] (Looks at lucasarts...[e digicons]:annoyed:[/e] ) monkey fucking island... dumbasses! [e digicons]XO[/e]
Fuck you man!!! Fuck you!! [e digicons];)[/e] Although I agree with the X Wing Vs Tie Fighter renewal.
Because like most companies do their main development team will be working on future products while a smaller team will be supporting existing products. From the changes so far I'd say the support team is probably too small, it's certainly very ineffective.
If there was superheroes everywhere ala Heroes I'd go for Peter Petrelli's original power (before Heroes turned to crap). Otherwise I'd go for Wolverines regeneration and become a Firefighter and make money off the publicity.
C&C is just not about strategy, which is a major flaw in a strategy game. This has become a franchise that I could not care less about.
This. I've no idea what people find fun about these games anymore.
If it were sold as a seperate product would it have it's own rating seperate from the base game?
This is the best way to handle it, do a small, low priced optional digital download that will 'mature' the game. Let that have a different rating to the base game. Kids will still be able to torrent pirate it or whatever but if the kid knows how to do that he can see a lot more than a few polygon nipples.
2. A turnbased "tabletop" game focusing on tactics and stragety. There was one RTS like Mechwarrior game but I can't remember it's name. Like that one but turnbased instead of realtime and much more complex gameplay.
The Front Mission series was the best example of this. Although I haven't played any since Front Mission 3, they were really well done back then.
You could apply the same kind of statement to just about any culture in the world.
Perhaps, I was making a general statement that was intended to show a trend. It was based mainly by several forum threads I've seen where quite a few people said they didn't like nudity/sex etc in modern culture, most of them talking about in games or movies that contain ridiculous levels of violence. It was in the forum threads I was talking about mostly Americans who were
That's been my biggest eye opener last year really is how North America is totally fine with almost any kind of violence but nudity almost sickens some people. I can only guess that sort of attitude to nudity comes from puritan religous groups and has become part of the American culture, I think it's a shame personally. People spend all sorts of money on things that look nice, art and architecture and yet they are scared to look at one of the most beautiful things of nature, the
@ Kodiak888 If we are overpaying for games because of DLC history will show us this will just lead to more companies producing games, meaning more competition and then more investment in to the development of games. Games companies may be getting fat off DLC, I don't think they are, I just think this is how they are affo
Oh sweet, garaunteed purchase from me. Next someone needs to make Dungeon Keeper 3 ;)
Wow......just wow..... 100 games and this guy still says lets make another custom game and smash on noobs. Never once does he think I'd like a challenge? Wow...
No real news other than they are working on the next expansion which the only official thing we know about is they are working on Diplomacy features including some unknown updates to the pirates. Frogboy warned us it had been delayed to late summer but as 'late summer' is fast approaching and we haven't heard a thing I'm guessing we may be in for another push back of the release date :(
GPG, a challenge to any one of you. Create a custom game, put yourself and a Rook AI on one team (any difficulty), on the other side do 1 AI like Regulus or UB, doesn't really matter. Do this on a simple map like Cataract. Now start the game, park your character at the crystal and now just watch the AI. My challenge to you is to not be embarassed by what you see.
If you get the chance can you find out what sticks he is reffering to please?
Haree, why not make an ICO account and come online and play comp stomp games then? Lots of people enjoy that.
Well I tried it last night and really enjoyed it, but 4 and a half hours was a big commitment, won't be doing it too regular ;)
