Hahaha well said Gormoth1 , well said! I don't think you are going to get through though :)

So I guess it came out around 12 or 13 years ago. It was kind of like Resident Evil in that you moved your character around in pre rendered environments but you controlled the sights of your guy with the mouse. He held 2 pistols and there would be 2 red lasers showing where he aimed. You were some kind of vampire hunter or something and there were different levels with different horror themes. I remember the one where you go in to a vampire mansion the most, you fi
You probably mean well, or you have just done a new module for your degree and like to show off some things you learned, it's hard to judge as an observer, but do you really think posting this in the General section of a game forum is the best platform for you to achieve what you are after? Even a pm to Frogboy seems more appropriate, although maybe just as unlikely to have impact. I guess the reason you were derided was more that fact that you look like you are assuming Frogboy
@Haree78 I find this amazing. You state that DW is "one of the best games you have played in recent times". This is incredible. DW was one of the worst 4x gaming experiences of my life. I'm not saying this in a bad or sarcastic way, I'm just curious to understand how a game experience can be so opposite. I thought we 4x Sci-fi Strategy guys would have similar taste. We after all have the same school right? Master of Orion and Maste
I guess I am lucky in that I didn't find the graphics or the User Interface issues enough for me to dislike the game. Underneath the tough interface (which is actually a pretty good interface now with the expansion) the game is superb, very complex but at the same time very accessible even from the beginning because of being able to automate so much. I love shiny grahics but I'm really glad that I am still able to enjoy a good game even when the graphics are 2D and basic like in
heh - well, I liked it. I get what you mean about most of the characters being unlikable (makes it all the more strange that I enjoyed it). I think it was mostly wanting to see more in the vein of BSG that made me like it so much. Seeing how the first cylons were created, the first skin job, the cylons belief in a singular God. All very interesting to me and not disappointing as it did explain all of those things.&nb
I'm like yourself trying to find a decent Sci Fi show. Sci Fi is interesting to me because of the setting but in general Sci Fi shows writing is terrible, throwing pseudo science in as plot devices and then just basing it around that. After Battlestar Galactica I found V to be watchable. Some terrible cheesy moments but overal fun and some good moments. Caprica was terrible, there wasn't one character that you actually liked, all mean spirited and selfish to a
How I would do mines: I would make mines a large entity, a mine field that is built or deployed at a slower rate than individual mines now. Once deployed they aren't visible to ships until they are close range and only targetable by scouts like now. Ships take large damage going through the field in chunks but this reduces the health of the field (unrepairable, well maybe by the ships that deploy the mines). Scouts can attack the field but cannot be harmed by the fie
Distant Worlds is the best I have played. Going to be even more awesome with the expansion coming up soon.
Well if you are going to make a sequel to something (and if someone who worked so heavily on it is involved you kind of have a right to) then you have to trademark the name, that's just business. Anyways as for the Dota saturation, I don't agree either. I loved Demigod and would have payed for expansions or DLC for it and I've never played dota or LoL/HoN which to me appeared to be budget PC games. If a good decent budget PC game comes out based on it I
Demigod, is that fun as a single player? I know it had multiplayer issues and all. It can be played one player, right? I could probably go look that up, but you know...lazy...
If you are going to play it single player make sure you get the AI improvement mod from the MOD section of the Demigod boards. Unfortunately it's only for skirmishes, not the Tournament but still makes for a more fun game.
I own the nVidia 3D glasses on a very high end machine. I use the 3D on very few games though. Developers don't bother to support it mostly, crosshairs are at 2D depth and impossible to use, shadows or water is often rendered in 2D, RTS render stuff at screen depth. Sins for example is impossible to play in 3D. That said when a game supports it because the Developers give a shit ([e digicons]<3[/e] Valve) then the results can be a lot of fun. Left 4
The greatest loss in gaming is as games companies have got bigger and they are almost all privatised then no games companies want to make specialist / niche games. They just want to make Call of Duty clones or turn their games that have been loved by fans in to Call of Duty clones anyway. Sadly SWAT 5 would be a Call of Duty clone if they made it now. Look at the last Rainbow 6 games, sort of a Gears of War clone. Any games company that makes amazing games carving
Excellent description COSIAN , well done.

Turn off space pirates
eh......what....? That's like 30% of the game, using them to find stuff and adding a challenge to get your empire off the ground. Why turn them off? They are manageable and finally getting your revenge on thei
This was one of those games I was sold by the web site and forums about it without a review or demo and I'm really glad I was. The latest patch has improved a LOT and it's even more fun than before. At the moment I play Blood Bowl and Left 4 Dead 2 but there is a small number of games I would still boot up and play on occasions, Sins, Distant Worlds being the main ones. As soon as they properly open up the modding capabilities (the next thing on their list) I imagine I w
More info about Legendary Edition please.
It's all on the website for the game. The current game uses Living Rule Book 5 (LRB5), the Legendary Edition will use the rules currently used in competitions which are now set in stone and unlikely to change for years. There is also around 20 races compared to the 9 with the Dark Elves you get in the current game. All of them except Chaos Dwarfs (d
The story was phenominal IMO. Trapped on an asteroid with a scientist having done things to you. As you find out about your self you see others who have been mutilated far worse than you, aliens and their respective technology (but not the type of generic aliens, mysterious aliens where each thing you discover about them feels like an achievement) and depending on your actions you end up having been a different person each time.
I do
I played Syndicate about a year ago for Nostalgia value, unfortunately all it did was satisfy the nostalgia, it really could use a facelift in gameplay. I think I played it through a dos emulator just fine. If I were to bet though, I would bet this is going to be a cover system 3rd person shooter ala Gears of War.
Hey all A long time ago when games were better and gamers were more mature a game named Bioforge was released (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BioForge) The story was beyond phenominal if you took the time to read the text. The game was fairly revolutionary for its time and the puzzles were interesting. Normally in games such as these the combat falls short but even the hand to hand combat was deep and fulfilling. I absolutely lov

You should at least say what you are talking about in your original post! The original Alien Swarm was absolutely brilliant. For a mod it was great fun, Alien Breed with 4 player multiplayer. Been looking forward to this one for ages. I've been prepping my 4 regular gaming mates to get it, gonna send them a text when it's out to force them ;)
You ask for ONE thing and spew out loads yourself [e digicons]>_>[/e] I would like to see the single player tournament style being able to be played multiplayer. So everyone is a player, anyone who drops being taken over by the AI.
Settlers II on the DS is also not that bad.
It's also widely reported to be completely broken. Save games corrupting and major issues with the zoom feature that mean you can't use it. Blood Bowl is best played on the PC, but wait for the Legendary Edition coming out soon, an improved version with all 21? teams. Check the main site for details, I can't wait.
