Now so you all know. When using LogonStudio. I found that if you tried to load a .logonxp file alone does nothing. You must go into the LogonStudio's folder and create a folder called what ever you want. Heres mine C:\Progtam Files\LogonStudio\Windows Vista Ultimate Large logon. Now I take my file called Windows Vista Ultimate Large.logonxp and change it to a zip. Like this Windows Vista Ultimate Large.logon.zip and extract it to that folder I created in LogonStudio. Now when you run Logon

Ok I uninstalled LofonDtudio again and went into the Registry and took every single LogonStudio entry out. I just reinstalled LogonStudio and tried one of boss0190 logon screens and it works for now.

I'm on my home computer. And I'm the only user. And when I get this LS is the default editor I said yes because if you say no. Then LS doesn't run.
You never seen seen default logon boxes? And when I hit ctrl+alt+del the task manager pops up. And what domain? I'm sitting right on my compuer. I've seen several logon boxes the ones at home and the ones at work when you're on a domain an

Yes they are checked, they been checked ever since I installed XP. It seems that if you try to load a logon screen with LogonStudio and it doesn't go right. You end up with no screen, just the classic style dialog window for username and password.
All I got was the default logon boxes. Do you mean classic style dialog window for username and password? Control panel-User Accounts-Change the way users log

All I've tried was LogonStudio. I was reading on ResHacker. But that allows you to change the bmp's in logonui.exe. But it does replace it in the system32 directory.

Yes the logonui.exe is back to original. The stock XP screens are back. I tried to install the In Defence logons. I did not modify it. It showed up in the preview window and that was it. When I hit the apply button. All I got was the default logon boxes.
In Defence is one you don't want to open in 'edit' in LogonStudio - any logon that's been modifed get's the modification reverted back to standard when opened in edit and it screws them up

I have tried that and it didn't work.
have you seen this: http://www.overclockersclub.com/guides/windowsxplogonhack.php or the short version of using logonui.exe courtesy of bFarber: 1. In Explorer, browse to C:\Windows\System32 and find the file named "logonui.exe". 2. Rename "logonui.exe" to "logonui.exe.bak". This way if anything messes up...you have a backup. 3. Place your new login in C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32 and renam

I finally got the XP screens back. Butiy wasn't because of LogonStudio. The restore did nothing. I have a gaming machine and I copied the logonui.exe from. I installed it on the machine that LogonStudio is on. Thats how I got it. But when ever I try to apply a logonxp file it screws everything up.

First I went back re read what you said. LogonXp is part of LogonStudio. I have been using LogonXp. But it hasn't worked. Right now I still have no logon screen or logoff screen. Just the default boxes. I have uninstalled LogonStudio a couple times and tried but nothing. Question whats the logonui.exe for? You have LogonXp putting a .logonxp file in system32. I see where some out there use a ResHacker.exe to edit the logonui.exe file to change it. Thank you for stayin

I follow what you said and used LogonStudeo with the logoxp file. And thats when it lost the logon screen and would not allow me to shut the computer off. Good news is I can shut computer off now. And I have a logon screen, but it's the deault XP one. What I did was uninstall LogonStudio and everything was back.

I don't know here. I did listen to boss and replied to him. But I did tell the truth when I replied to vstyler. He didn't help with the queution about LogonStudio.

The logon screen in the picture I posted is from Deviant Art. And it does come with the logonxp files for LogonStudio. Here's the link. http://ears1991.deviantart.com/art/Windows-Vista-Ultimate-Logon-38038968 But the text is missing when you use it.
The logon you are trying to use is a heavily modified logon that works with Logon Studio. Logon Studio will import logonui.exe logons that are consistant with what Logon

Thank you. I did not know that you could not move the buttons around in LogonStudio. Is there a program out there that I use to do that?
when importing, you sometimes have to go in manually (as in the folder, not logonstudio) and edit files those logons with splash screens and moved buttons, can't be edited in logon studio
