Airbrushkid, you really should be more nice with people coming to answer yours questions and listen answers.
Actually they have tried to help you in regard to the fews informations you give first.
Yes some have take a moment to joke a little but it wasn't personals attacks (who are not allowed here).
You are on a forum so everyone reading your post can answer to it even if it's for having a little fun.

Logon studio can allow you to use splash logon who can be edited only manually with notepad or whatever.
the logons you show us are maybe splash logons or logonscreen. you really should read closely Boss0190 answer and questions. He is the Boss (no jokes) with Splash logons.

Thanks guys. I was just joking after all. Mostly at Zubaz's expense (gotta love Zu....). Airbrush, I meant nothing personal towards you at all. If I offended you, I apologize.....

killajosh, good off you to apologize to airbrushkid.  Don't think it neccessarry but can't hurt, right.  You rock. And when's the last time I misspelled anything?  I've been checking my work much better these days.  :)

Airbrushkid, folks have a number of options when they post here.  they can become part of the community or be fly-by-night.  Being part of the community rocks but will require you to  moderate yourself until you have time to figure out who's who and possible the "tone" of posts.  Granted, that takes time.  It is worth it though.  Also, the more clearly you communicate the more likely you will get help and the better that help will be.  Having to "translate poor spelling, grammar, or lack of detail might drain whatever available energy a reader has thus leaving you without a solution.

Quentin, Erk, Boss, Bea, vStyler, 2of3 . . thanks for trying to assist.  You guys rock too.   :CONGRAT:

Airbrushkid, Erk and vStyler's attempts at helping you may stand you in better stead than your more direct question and subsequent responses.  killajosh was just being neighborly.  That has it's own value.  :)

Zu, I figured you were using spellcheck these days....

Airbrush, one of the best things about this community is the fact that we can joke around with each other. It helps ease things over, keeps tension levels down. And you can usually find help when you need it. As for logons, Quentin is right...listen to Boss.

The logon you are trying to use is a heavily modified logon that works with Logon Studio.

Logon Studio will import logonui.exe logons that are consistant with what Logon Studio can produce, but this particular logon will not import correctly.

You would be better off using a .logonxp version of this logon made for your resolution and you should have no problems.

I'm pretty sure there is a .logonxp version of this logon here at WC, and if not check at Deviant Art. I know for sure there is one there....just spend a bit of time looking for it. :)

I gave you good advice..and provide more help around here than you may ever know.

I can assure you I don't ever walk into someone house and disrespect them.

Grow up, ask for help courteously, be respectful in your demeanour and you will be respected by those you ask help of.

Thats twice you posted and didn't help with the question that was asked.

The logon screen in the picture I posted is from Deviant Art. And it does come with the logonxp files for LogonStudio. Here's the link.

But the text is missing when you use it.

I just recommend you listen to boss. And show a little respect along the way. We all know you're new here (what, 4 days?), but that doesn't give you an excuse to treat other people like crap. Maybe you should look at other forums. You might find a post with a question for help that turns into a 3 page marathon of jokes....... that's the beauty of WC!

I don't know here. I did listen to boss and replied to him. But I did tell the truth when I replied to vstyler. He didn't help with the queution about LogonStudio.
Maybe not. But the advice he gave you is invaluable.
Just to clarify (and help me understand) are you trying to modify the XP version?

Anyone and everyone is allowed to post on this forum and this thread. Boss is a very kind and patient person who is willing to overlook your general unpleasant tone in this thread!

Notice the title before vStyler's name (master), I'll have you know he didn't get that title by accident. Some respect is due. In fact respect should be given no matter the rank here ;)

I was very willing to give you a hand earlier, but you lost me at reply #9 (:(

Don't worry, though. We are a very forgiving group of people here, so this thread will probably be forgotten in time.

Hope everything works out for you, bud

did you install Segoeui fonts included in zip on this folder in your computer:
C:\WINDOWS\Fonts

second thing:
The "Windows Vista Ultimate" text on bottom of the Logon is write directly on the wallpaper used as Bitmap_100 (Background)
Ears1991 used the background without text for those already done and share on the zip. SO that's normal.
If you want have the logon with this text you'll have to follow what i'll say.

1° DON'T USE LOGONSTUDIO
if you have already use it then delete the logon files (for this one only) on this folder: C:\Program Files\WinCustomize\LogonStudio the folder named: "Windows Vista Ultimate Large"
Then reinstall the logon from the download files.

2° Open Ears1991 archive it contains Extras. Go in Background Bitmaps folder. Select the background you want (caution the size need to fit your resolution) copy it (right click copy)

3° Go on C:\Program Files\WinCustomize\LogonStudio\Windows Vista Ultimate Large. Past the background. Delete the file: "Bitmap_100.bmp" then rename the background you have copy past to "Bitmap_100.bmp"

4° Create a save of want you just made. So select all files in this folder. and Zip them and rename the .zip to .logonx

5° Open LogonXP and Apply the logon.

Not a problem

well did you edited the logon today or earlier with/trought LogonStudio?

I follow what you said and used LogonStudeo with the logoxp file. And thats when it lost the logon screen and would not allow me to shut the computer off.

Good news is I can shut computer off now. And I have a logon screen, but it's the deault XP one. What I did was uninstall LogonStudio and everything was back.

are you sure to have made what i said and follow each step. Even the steps where i said:

If you have used the logonXP file, and one of the backgrounds in bmp Ears1991 has added on his zip on extras folder.
If you have made it manually without LOGONSTUDIO.
If you have then zipped ALL files in a .zip then rename to .logonxp
...
All should works correctly
First I went back re read what you said. LogonXp is part of LogonStudio. I have been using LogonXp. But it hasn't worked. Right now I still have no logon screen or logoff screen. Just the default boxes. I have uninstalled LogonStudio a couple times and tried but nothing.

Question whats the logonui.exe for? You have LogonXp putting a .logonxp file in system32.

I see where some out there use a ResHacker.exe to edit the logonui.exe file to change it.

Thank you for staying around and trying to help.

Airbrushkid, you should understand what we said:
logonui.exe don't work with LogonStudio

The Logonxp you tried to use with LogonStudio is a SPLASH LOGON who can't be edited with logonstudio.

SO:

First Thing: Open LogonStudio  press the button restore XP original logon (even if it's already the case) then after LogonStudio close, re open it and on popup window press ok.

Use LogonStudio to apply the logonXP but never to edit it as it's a splash logon.

Delete the files like i told you:

1° DON'T USE LOGONSTUDIO
if you have already use it then delete the logon files (for this one only) on this folder: C:\Program Files\WinCustomize\LogonStudio the folder named: "Windows Vista Ultimate Large"
Then reinstall the logon from the download files.
End of quote

then follow step by step what i said on post #41

AND DON'T USE LOGONUI.EXE FILES BUT LOGONXP FILES

I finally got the XP screens back. Butiy wasn't because of LogonStudio. The restore did nothing. I have a gaming machine and I copied the logonui.exe from. I installed it on the machine that LogonStudio is on. Thats how I got it. But when ever I try to apply a logonxp file it screws everything up.
