This should be my last reply to this post. :0) Disabling my nview properties solved the drop down menu problem. If you have this problem with an NVIDIA chipset graphics card (my card is an EVGA 8600GTS)and I'm using XPpro sp2. Go to control panel/NVIDIA desktop manager(might be called NVIEW properties depending on your driver release?)Click on icon and make sure the nview desktop manager button says enable. Thank you for the quick replies and the link. I disabled nview properties and now the drop downs work fine. Now my open window title bars are starting to stripe in the task bar. When I put the cursor over them sometimes they turn black. sometimes they clear up. And sometimes I get pink stripes in them. Sheesh! Maybe I shouldn't have updated my graphics card drivers today, Well I'll roll back my drivers and see if that helps. Thanks again.Jim
