Agreed, this game is going to consume many hours from me in the future.
Had my sovereign grouped with two wolves and the text cut off in the bottom right of the screen so the party strength wasn't visible. X is leading a party of two etc etc. Estimated strength of......
After playing for a couple hours the game suddenly crashed with an out of memory error. ------------------ System Information ------------------ Time of this report: 6/11/2010, 20:25:40 Machine name: RYAN-PC Operating System: Windows Vista™ Home Premium (6.0, Build 6001) Service Pack 1 (6001.vistasp1_gdr.100218-0019) Language
Essentially one of the AI players had constructed two cities directly on top of eachother, I conquered one and now I've got an AI outpost directly underneath my town. Quite odd. http://www.screencast.com/users/Slainangel52/folders/Jing/media/e7b02fd8-fa3f-4657-a274-6e6e8c48909e

So I'm guessing we should be getting a better idea of the magic system with that beta. That being said, it really is important to get magic right, considering how important it will probably be in game.
I think in the journal posted yesterday they said the magic tec

Frankly, there are so many poor quality games being released these days, without demos or any way to test it outside of reading the opinion of some reviewer somewhere who may or may not have an unbiased view of the game and the company. I've got a tight budget and if I'm going to drop $50 on a game I want to know that I'm getting my moneys worth. There are a few development teams that I don't need that confirmation with because I know they do quality work and they've yet to disappoint me with

Quick question, I believe I saw that beta II would be starting sometime this week or next week maybe. I'm curious how long pre-ordering will grant access to it before it gets locked again? I don't have the extra $$ this week but likely will next week, just curious what the window of opportunity looks like for it. :)
Quoting ThreeKings, reply 1I think the mystery continues... that and PBEM - last I heard they may be in but may be part of an expansion. Yep. Froggie answered to these questions in this topic: https://forums.elementalgame.com/381530
:( very disappointing
I'm anxiously awaiting this game, most likely I'll be ordering it when beta II opens up actually, I come here every day to check and see when that'll be haha. My friends and I enjoy playing hotseat games, and these days they seem so very rare. Right now we're entertained by dominions III but the AI in it is just awful. Having a game that provides a challenging AI and hotseat play would be perfect. I can't seem to find any information on the availability of hotseat play outside side of
Would it be at all possible to implement a way to type in a large number for how much bounty I'd like to add to somone rather than click the button 192301923012 times. This may not be an issue online but in my 5 star 200 planet map we were getting bounties on eachother upwards of 200,000 credits, which takes quite awhile to click through. Or if there is a fast way to do this now please somone tell me _>
I too like the changes, especially the lag gone during text popups. However I'm disappointed that the vasari weapon effects are still going to vanish all the time forcing a save/reload. It gets really tedious late game.
Oh I have no doubts they are trying to track it down. :) It just makes me sad since Vasari happen to be my favorite race to play as. I'm quite patient though and have faith they'll smash the bug eventually. Since I don't play online it's not a huge deal si

I was looking at the 1.03 changelog and remembered something I thought would be neat to have. Similar to the autoexplore function, could we get a search and destroy function?. Perhaps lock it into one star. So once you wipe out the defending fleet in one system you can set your attack fleet to go from planet to planet and destroy them. Not so much useful on small one star maps but on 5star + maps where you have multiple fleets running around it would be a nifty addition I think.
The Vasari are my favorite hands down for a number of reasons. From an aesthetic point of view I like all of the Vasari ships except the whale ship. Phase missiles, phase gates, combined resource research. Tougher warships. They even have the coolest voices. Vasari ftw Sadly my 8800 GTX recently died and I'm awaiting my RMA, no sins for me :(
The thing about phase missiles is that they can bypass mitigation. Thats what their strenght is. Lets say you have a ship that does 100 damage a shot and you have a sheild phase chance of 25% and are attacking a ship wich due to other attacks on it has got shield mitigation at 50%. Your ship will have 3 out of every 4 attacks hit the shield and do 50 damage (100 -50% mitigation) and have 1 out of every 4 attacks do 100 damage. This means that it will do 250 dama
Vasari get tech for all 3 types of planets most of it revolves around the volcanic though.
I don't believe there are any tracking numbers, however they have been shipped already and should be arriving shortly if you're in the US, AFAIK.
Ok cool, I'll stop trying to find it then lol, not a big deal really since it can be downloaded and all. In fact it's downloading for me as we speak now if only work would end :(
I've seen people mention being able to raise the ship cap by modding a file. It was also noted that this causes issues with multiplayer. I was wondering if all involved players had the same modification, (say we all set it to 3,000) will the multiplayer function normally?
I pre-ordered this ages ago and paid for the actual dvd/box to be sent to me, I'm just curious if there was any way to track that order and see when it will arrive. I cannot seem to locate that information anywhere. At least on the website, I cannot get into the stardock program where I am right now :)
I think it's a sinister bug that needs to be looked into
