Ahhhh ... I figured out my problem. I needed to switch on "Stretch to Show Entire Texture" in the Settings area of Appearance. Now they appear in full!

. And this shows what shows up in the Start 10 menu. Only the left side (not even half) of the picture shows up. ??
This shows the whole picture
Thank you for such a quick reply, BASJ. Attached are 3 snaps. Well I take that back - I appear to be able to add only 1 picture. This one shows what it looks like when I add my picture to the program.
I just love this program. I tried playing around with the textures used as a background for the 'All Programs' and the Start 10 menu. Using your provided texture called 'img104' as an example - that file is 1920x1200 . 96dpi, 24 bit color. So I created a file that exact size and characteristics. But when I try to use my file, only a small portion of the file gets displayed on the Start 10 screens. I tried it multiple times - just can't get it to work. It's
Perfection! Thanks so much for your instructions. I followed them to the letter and everything works just fine now. Thank you!!
Ah, I confused you I see. Sorry about that! I didn't use the right term. It isn't a 'splash screen' per se .... it's the actual program that's opening up when I boot. They open up, allowing me to make changes I guess. And of course, I don't often make any changes after the first few times because I'm very happy with the way I have them set up. Just in case that didn't clarify -- I have Windows 10-1903, and the very latest
Can't seem to find any way to disable the splash screen on these 2 programs (Groupy and WIndowsFX). Am I missing something? Or is it not possible to avoid the splash screen? Thanks!
Mmmmmm ... why yes I did, as it turn out. Not accidentally - I thought that it just changed the skin when I rebooted my computer. :-) I turned it off, and everything is working fine now. THANKS!!!
For some reason, WB just recently started deciding what skins to load. I tell it to load skin X, and it loads skin Y. The visual of the skin in WB shows as X -- until I tell WB to rebuild the list ... then it will show that actually skin Y is loaded. I've updated to the latest version (10.74), rebooted ... nothing seems to fix this. Any ideas?
AlMonty - oh yeah, your DeviantArt recommendation was a winner! Those are exactly the types of skins I really like. I downloaded a load of them. Would have grabbed more, but a lot of them had the buttons on the left (Mac) and I'm not crazy about that. Thanks again.
Ah, see, by my standards you have a huge disk. My boot drive (SSD) is only 120GB, and everything I own can fit on it. I never use DeviantArt - I'll head over there right now and check it out. My 'skimpy' skin holdings, however, have more to do with my likes/dislikes than anything (I can only tolerate simple and rather plain), and many of the folks who make up these beautiful skins like it fancy. I'll let you know if I download 600 or so skins from DeviantArt. :-(</
704 skins!! Oy veh - you must have a massive boot drive. I only have 61 skins, and my WB folder has 826 MB in it.
Wow! Thank you DaveRI. I'm originally from Providence - if that's what the "RI" stands for. What I wouldn't give for some really good Italian food.
Haha! Well you're both right - it is a somewhat tedious process to get the correct skins. My problem is that I can't remember what skins come with WB, so I have to scroll through them all, apply the suspicious ones, and then decide if that a tosser or not. I also think my problems were aggravated by a string of WB updates in the past month or so. I believe they've fixed that problem. But I will take your suggestion to heart. At the moment, I have 61 skins only 2 of which are Sta
Yeah, I always worry about messing my system up. BUT ... I just recently found a DYNAMITE freeware program that completely protects me from screwups. Rollback RX. I love this thing. After an initial 'snapshot' of your total C drive (takes about 90 seconds), you can take other snapshots at will. And it truly takes only 10-12 seconds, and the files are smallish (1GB maybe). To restore, just open the little Rollback RX program (in Windows), choose which snapshot you'd like to revert to,
Ahhh - the Rembrandt of Windowblinds styles! I really do like your work, Lightstar, and have many of your styles installed. I just this morning thought of a possible way to work around the constant re-installation of Styles. I went to my Windowblinds directory (C:\users\public\documents\Stardock\Windowblinds) and made a Zip file of the contents (just the folders, actually, because I was afraid that I might wind up deleting some other files that were part of an update, and be in
I've deleted a number of the Styles that come packaged with WB. But every time I install an update, they all get reinstalled. Was hoping for a way to avoid this. ??? Even a slick workaround would be a help. Thanks.
I'd love to know if there's ANYBODY out there with Windows 7 32bit, who has successfully changed the various image icons using an iconpackage. Are you out there? Reason I state this is because I'm convinced it's a Windows 7 issue, not an Iconpackager issue (of course, one would think that they'd tell us this ... !?). I've Googled this issue and find many people frustrated trying to change icons in Windows 7, and I have yet to see any solution that works. I tried the Regedit thing -- wouldn't
I notice that a number of people seem to have a similar problem - that some, but not all, of the icons change when a new iconpackage is applied. For me, the most noticeable are the graphic files --- JPG, GIF, TIF, BMP, TGA, PNG. NONE of them EVER changes from its default, no matter how many times I reapply the theme. !!? What gives? The WAV file behaves like this as well. I'm using Windows 7 home (32 bit), and the latest version of Iconpackager 5. If anyone has a clever workarou
Every time I tried to change skins, the Configuration App dropped dead on me. I finally figured it out: it isn't even WB7's fault. It's a weenie freebie program called "Noisy Mouse" (makes noises whenever you mouseclick). Unload Noisy Mouse and WB works perfectly. I might add that Noisy Mouse also caused Macrium Reflect to crash ingloriously. FYI.
I'm using WB7 (build 228), and Win 7. When I apply a different skin to a particular application, the shadow area at the bottom shows up like a milky gray rectangle. Other areas of the skin (like near the menu bar at top) sometimes have the same pale gray rectangles sticking outside the window area. ?? If I remove the per app setting, and apply the same skin globally ... no problem - it paints correctly. I've tried multiple skins - old ones, new ones - same issue. I've also tried forcing
