repulicans!!!!
I'm glad I'm Republican and not repulican [e digicons]:P[/e] . Hey Stardock - get Brian Harper up here! He seems to be the one listed in the details. Yeah - this has got to be the strangest bug I've ever seen.

To answer your question: There is an Aero-like skin called "Diamond" that you can use. With the exception that the taskbar is altered, it's nearly identical to Aero.

That is an interesting layout for an OS. Sorta like a phone OS? I heard some people were trying to bring phone-like OSes to low-end PCS. Very nice design. I wonder about compatibility, though? Will it work with applications from an existing OS?
Do the math, a single kiloton bomb generates 4.184 × 10e12 J or 1.162 x 10e6 kw-h of energy.
Over a continent approximately 2500 miles wide and 1000 miles tall, for a total of 2.5x10 6 square miles - or less than 1 kw/h per square mile.

IMHO the wikipedia's article is very simplified, to the point where it may be very inaccurate. While it is true that a high altitude bomb may be able to hit a larger area due to a larger horizon, it's also true that the inverse square law would apply to anything sending radiation in a roughly spherical shape. This means that while it may hit a larger area, it would do so with exponentially decreased effectiveness. As a former Ham radio operator - I've had to study the
I'm making my own operating system, and that's why I designed this.
I'm not sure designing an OS is a good idea these days - when you count the number of man hours required to create one, you realize it's not possible within a single lifetime unless you're designing something ultra simple. Some of the things you are doing are so different I think you'd need to design your own applications to arrange them the way you want. My advice: Instea
Not really. One relatively weak nuke (Hiroshima sized) could theorectially knock out the entire US,
I question that. I'm gonna have to ask for backup of that claim.

153 Replies 443,203 Views

I think the EMP destruction of a single weapon (assuming it's from a nuclear weapon) would be closer to taking out a city, not the entire USA. Only the pre-cold-war Soviet Union and the USA have, AFAIK, enough resources to create enough weapons to wipe our entire naton. Of course, if you launch that many nukes, the EMP bursts are gonna be the least of your worries. Farm equipment is unlikely to go dead. The metal in a tractor is likely to act as a Farada
I don't see a "leader" or "follower". I feel that's false logic.
Well, maybe the the line isn't so distinct - but if somebody is continuously a full OS release behind with compatibility with their product, I find that equally absurd. What's the logic behind releasing a product mere months before it becomes out of date? What's the logic of spending the entire lifecycle of an OS to develop a product for it, especially a product that is very likely to have compatibility is

Agree with pretty much everybody that it's a nebulous term.
Someone said, cloud computing means you need not have hard disk in the future
I'd have to disagree. Time and time again, there has always been value for local storage, no matter how good the network is.
Well, if you're saying that free market capitalism is flawed and makes piracy appealing, I totally agree with you.
I wouldn't say it's flawed in the "there's something wrong with it" manner, but rather there are simple facts about how the world works: The world has finite, very unevenly distributed, and always changing resources. Our power to distribute those resources is very limited. Our power to distribute those resources are effect

Make sure both WB and Comodo are up to date. Recent versions of both software work together more nicely than older versions. I'm running both on my XP system without any major troubles. It's kinda unfortunate that something as important as a firewall program thinks it's a good idea to add a lot of extra code in something like a custom skin. Just more code to have bugs in it, you know,
