So exactly what 'very high resoluton textures' are we talking about here? I can play Crysis on very high settings at 1920x1200 although with no AA and I'd like to see Sins push my system to the max too. When I recently started playing SupCom again I was suprised just how much better looking it is than Sins, with it's moving turrets and every unit having a shadow etc. and I'd like to see Sins at least equal it in graphics.

Correct, I have no interest in pre-paying for a game that could turn out to be pure fail. I know nothing about the game besides some screenshots that didn't really get me excited. Because of the companies involved I will keep an eye on development and play a demo as soon as one is released but that alone is no reason to believe that the game is worth buying at this early stage. I only buy the best of the best games if I consider something to be merely average I will pass thanks.
The last few times I have installed IconPackager my Razer Diamondback control panel icon in the system tray loses it's icon, turns into a blank document icon. I have also seen a few icons in the all programs menu lose their icon. I have no idea what could cause this to happen but it's pretty weird
Same as Sins, I'll wait for a demo.
no... it should smoothly apply the skin you have chosen
What even before activating the product? Because all I had to do to fix my skinning problem was activate WB and after that the skins worked fine. Just asking cause the answer might be informative for others. I know this has no bearing on anyone elses posts because their products are already activated
10x?... Okay that's a little lofty to claim..Just 3x better would be nice though. Supcom runs like 1/3rd or 1/4th as good as sins. :x
SupCom runs just as well as Sins on my PC, I just wish Sins looked as good as SupCom. No way I'd buy that system linked above either, it comes loaded with bloatware and the parts are probably cheap as. Better off building your own anyday.
I'm glad the work on IconPackager is ongoing since the latest version is the first time I've actually seen it work.
I have asked this question many times in the past and still get the same problem whenever I try to apply icon packs from stardock products. I no longer try to use icon packs at all but luckily you can change the settings in MyColors so that you can choose what parts of a theme activate when you apply it. Or you can install the theme and then apply just the skin from WindowBlinds if you have it.
When I try to apply the Quest theme, the skin doesn't show up. I just get a Windows Classic look though the other parts apply correctly. Also where can I dowload the Quest theme if I accidently delete it?
Oh damn!...while writing this post I spilled hot coffee on my crotch!!!!!Hmm.. would you sue the coffee company for the hot coffee or the company that made your clothes for not making them thick enough to protect you from the hot coffee?
Both and you'd sue the guy who made you the coffee, for not putting a lid on it, and the people who made the table that must have been uneven spilling the coffee.
Nope, doing that just gets me a list of my serial numbers and links to SDC, which when I enter my numbers, only tells my subscription has ended and shows me shareware versions. When I say 'archived apps invariably failed to work when re-installed' I mean it seriously, not once have I been able to successfully archive an app, and then get it to work later.
I bought a Object Desktop last year that has since run out. I thought the deal was that I could get updates to my software until my subscription ran out but it seems I can no longer download Windowblinds 6 at all and I am limited to downloading a shareware version of WindowBlinds 4. Anyone know how this is suppose to work, when my subscription ends do I no longer have the ability to download the latest update available at the time my subscription ended??? I just re-formatted m
Yeah I see, the transparency is showing in all my skins. But only Molten has a missing 'Back' button.
I can understand why the skins are not put into Programs Files folder, I much prefer the new folder structure of Vista. But why are the skins moved to my public sharing folder? eg *\Users\Public\Documents\* Everyone on my network can get into that folder and if they see a bunch of skins they might start messing with them. I *only* have stuff in there that is meant for other network users. Why isn't the default folder my own User folder eg. *\Users\Necaradan666\Documents\* My .
Molten doesn't seem to skin the Problem Reports and Solution window on Vista properly. Its transparent on the title and the 'Back' button is missing.
I just tried loading the webpage without being logged in. Everything worked perfectly....could this be something to do with my Object Desktop subscription lapsing this month? Seems to work fine if I log in after loading the page too. I can refresh the page but I cannot touch the forum button at the top or I'll have to log off and on again.
I cannot access the Wincustomize forums either. I am running IE7 on Vista Ultimate. When I click on the forum button at the top of Wincustomize.com the page loads but before I can do anything I get an error message telling me IE cannot open the web page and the opertaion is aborted. I have seen similar behaviour many time befores on the Wincustomize (any page not just forum) but I could always just hit Back and I would be able to use the page, it's not working at all now though. <br
Yep, the file is there but when I run it nothing happens. Vista gives me the compatibility dialog asking if the program worked correctly or should run with recommended settings. Both options had no effect. I also found another file with the same name in the Dark Avatar folder which didn't seem to do anything either.
It's not a Vista problem it's a Stardock problem. They have to set up the icon and the downloadable information for the ratings and recommendations, not Microsoft. I don't expect the companies of older games that I have to update their games to work with the explorer but for one that just came out I do. Btw all the Microsoft games I've installed just to see if they install into the explorer, way back to Age of Empires, have been updated which is cool.
Ok so I spent all day downloading and installing a new Dark Avatar. The game does not install into the games explorer. For Stardock a company that prides itself on looking nice it sucks that their new game doesn't have an entry.
Nope, it installed into the start menu/all programs list like it always has. I'll try installing it again. The Games Explorer is way cooler than just having an icon in the start menu or an icon on the desktop. The icons are large and colourful and the ESRB and Recommended System Ratings are nice.
Since this game was so recently released why doesn't it install an icon into the Vista Games folder with the ratings info and stuff? Can we get this working for a future update?
Ok, so I tried the game on two PCs and two laptops yesterday - no sfx. Today I walk in and my sister is playing Disciples - the music is playing. I get her to start a new level - VO is playing... Huh? I guess my issue is solved but I have no idea how. (though I'm still not happy it took so long to get dowloaded without failing)
Anyone else got this game from TG.net? Do you have music and speech in the game? I already own 2 versions of Disciples II and only bought this Ultimate Edition because the game was so old that Rise of the Elves was never even released here in Australia. Apart from the fact it has taken me *months* since I paid to get it downloaded without failing halfway, the game has no speech in the mission intros and no music whatsoever. What the fuck is going on here? These are some of the most atmosphe
