Question about Object Desktop subscription

I bought a Object Desktop last year that has since run out. I thought the deal was that I could get updates to my software until my subscription ran out but it seems I can no longer download Windowblinds 6 at all and I am limited to downloading a shareware version of WindowBlinds 4.

Anyone know how this is suppose to work, when my subscription ends do I no longer have the ability to download the latest update available at the time my subscription ended???

I just re-formatted my system and I didn't bother to archive my OD apps because I thought I could always re-download them like I can with GalCiv II. Also every time I have tried to use the archive function in SDC my archived apps invariably failed to work when re-installed back from the archives anyway.

I do have the sig.bin file from my previous WindowBlinds installation.

The idea is...you're supposed to archive your applications and then you can restore those once your subscription runs out.

If you email support@stardock.com, they should be able to provide you with a download of the latest version you were able to get when your subscription was active.

I believe going straight to the Stardock Support Page and entering your email will get you links to the latest released version you are entitled to

Nope, doing that just gets me a list of my serial numbers and links to SDC, which when I enter my numbers, only tells my subscription has ended and shows me shareware versions.

When I say 'archived apps invariably failed to work when re-installed' I mean it seriously, not once have I been able to successfully archive an app, and then get it to work later.

Yep I just sent an email asking for the same as I was out of country while my sub expired and unfortunately I didn't back up.

Good time to renew.  :)

Zubaz... along the same vein, if your subscription runs out before you reenew, do you have to pay the new subscribers price to renew?

No.  Past customers always pay the renewal price.  How cool is that?
