To be very honest, I'd rather like to have a MoM upgrade instead - what EWoM was supposed to be at first. Like, the exact same game, just with today's graphics (but keeping the graphical design), more options and some rebalance and AI fixes. I'd pay a full-price AAA rate for this.

I'm one of the original WoM beta testers, so entitled to free upgrades to FE & Fe:LH, but I passed on FE:LH because of Steam. Recently found out it is available on GOG, so I plan to buy it there and kiss of my free steam key for it. Just want Stardock to know that their Steam deal is not universally popular. I hate Steam with passion, and I feel murderous urges rising in me each time I see a game being developped on it. I loathe intrusive DRM, I abhor forced online connection when I don't do something that SHOULD require connection and I hate programs that have control over my games. Steam is the number one reason I don't buy many games lately. Give me GoG or Impulse any day, something that allows digital distribution without forcing me to install some dirty spyware that h

Well, nearly everything is in the title. It'd been a while since I launched a GC2, but I suddendly got my crave moment of sci-fi Civ-like game, and I went back to play. But my memories were a bit foggy, so I didn't really remembered what "surrender" option allowed. I mixed it with the "allow vassal" in Civ game. Sadly, the "surrender" option doesn't make a civ the vassal of another, it makes it give its assets and disappear. I really doesn't like this, but I&#3

You bring an interesting point, as this game seems to have been overlooked. Though I'd have to say, the way you present it makes me somehow doubtfull, because it feels more like "fanboyist" than simply "fan wishing to share his passion". And also it's based on Dragonlance, which is a bad case of fail right from the start :p Seriously though, I'll have a look, if only for objectivity sake.

Yes, MoM had horrid balance and AI. And you know what ? That's probably the extent of its flaws - well, it was probably buggy too, but I'm lucky enough to never have experienced this part, just like I've never had a crash in Elemental. Everything else is pure gold. Sure, the flaws you pointed ARE significant, but the qualities of the game and the amount of features and immersion are STAGGERING. The flaws hamper the playability, but not the awesomeness of the game. You

Simply having an advanced search would be a great boon for starter... Except if I missed something, we can't even use parameters for the search function, it just looks for a word and randomly display the results. It's totally unusable in its current implementation.

MoM had simply a purely unbelievable amount of features in a single game. Yes there were severe balance and AI problems, but the game overflowed with ideas and things to do. Even listing them is going to take all the day, so just consider that if something could be imagined in a fantasy strategy game, then it IS included in MoM, and probably in fifty variations. Add to this that it had a very immersive ambiance. The graphics were very low-quality because of technical limitations of th

The bulk of SD's revenue comes from non-game products, and Elemental was more of a hobby, a work of art, and a gift to the community that they were going to evolve on an ongoing basis. Now with this new news, the layoffs were caused by a reduced budget outlook due to a lackluster launch of Elemental.<b

I still disagree with your reasoning. Basically you are saying that tactics and variety hang on the fact that a unit can enter mélée without armor and come out unscathed. This simply doesn't compute. I think that, on the contrary, tactics enter more in the equation when you have to take this into account - and it allows the game to be more logical, seriously, who would expect to fight toe-to-toe without defense and still survive ? - and to actually maneuver in ord
