yeah well this mission is a little counter intuitive in terms of AI the thing is : the dread lords are supposed to be immensely powerful which is why they are so "good" (heavy starting bonuses only in fact) and the difficulty level defines all AIs including your allies... so what you probably should do is actually increase the difficulty so that your allies are better able to defend themselves...

is this : https://forums.stardock.com/328255 what you're searching for ? I'm not sure... mind you... If I was you, I would make sure that my game is updated though, since a lot of fixes were done (said that because you said you were on dial-up, so maybe you didn't update yet due to time constraints)

ho I don't think I ever said the only valid reason of why I only play singleplayer 90% of the time except with very few selected friends in LAN only Lately I borrowed COD4 Modern Warfare from a friend, great game ! (yeah I know, I'll probably buy it once I get the budget sometime). I just loved the single player experience. A few frustrating moments with a very scripted campaign. So I was considering going to play online but first I searched for "online cheats Call of Duty 4" and here
GC2 has a great story and along with the campaign you get a good feel for the races.
hum... I don't agree on this one while I find the races "fun", some poor tech descriptions + very average videos + number of videos quite on the low side + average story, meant that I didn't really enter gc2 world in the campaigns The best "stories" on gc2 were when some stardock members (probably frogboy) told us some elements
Granted, I didn't yet test this "cheat-MP" out, nor do I know if it still works with the expansion packs (hopefully it does) ... But still:
too buggy & "glitched", to be playable as far as I'm concerned Also... as I recall, stardock made it clear that no further meaningful patches will get released now for gc2 so don't get your hopes up !

well given the content of your post, I have as a individual browsing the forums not enough information to know or see what's happening Since I'm not going the guess route, and throwing in random solutions, I will only advise that you either : -1 provide more information to the community here (after all, the community found a registry bug lately after a specific update, and then the "solution" was adopted by stardock [e digicons][/e] ) -2 wait for the devs to an

unfortunately XP home is a rather limited edition of XP 32 bits and as such (AFAIK) it doesn't support the /3GB switch necessary for the OS to handle memory amounts up to 3GB for a single process (in other words, if you modify galciv2 to access more than 2GB, XP home will ignore the setting and allow only up to 2GB the documentation on this subject is rather sparse (and most people don't realize that the switch itself is not enough and

I've also had the neutral looking robot appear in the beginning of the game for Terrans, which stayed there even when I have become evil.
as I said, it's not random, just depends on your alignment and whether or not your race is terran and there's not a single terran robot, there is 3 (again depending on alignment) if you want to verify anything I'm telling here then you can go there to download the bink video player : http://www.radgametools.com/bnkdown.htm and watch the vids independently of the game
ho ok thanks for the explanation, I'm not used to working with pointers, well it seems to work either way but maybe I just got lucky It is very likely a modification would appear to function correctly, because a pointer subtraction (or a comparison of pointers) over the signed/unsigned boundary is extremely rare and can only occur if the program actually uses more than 2GB of memory. However, cannot be ruled out it happens. That means

you could try the HP ones, though in any case (whether HP or laptopvideo2go) it's only a question of customized .inf installation files to take into account specific model numbers... (which are only text based files) and the HP ones might not be as frequently updated as laptopvideo2go... constructors are usually quite "lazy" in this department, mainly because of limited budget/mantime

I'm not 100% sure but I seem to remember seeing a similar error upon saving a game when using extreme settings (largest map, largest amount of planets) after a long time playing and alt-tabbing to windows durring the game session My analysis of it was that somehow there was not enough memory available to galciv2 application (since by default it's limited to a maximum of 2GB) depending on your hardware/software, it may be possible to increase the amount of memory available to g
