But if a character is easier to control, it should be harder to win with it against people with experience in managing tougher characters
With that addendum, I would be more likely to agree with you. The question then becomes, were your opponents any good? There's not much to be gleaned from the circumstantial evidence you're offering.

What does this score actually 'do' for the player? If the player who's quitting the game doesn't care about favor, why are they going to care about this? If this is just a score for other players to look at and determine whether they want to play with you, how is this different from the typical "X wins, X losses, X disconnects" model?
And I think Snipe and Fireball have the same cast time?
Fireball has a one second cast. Snipe has a two second cast. It may not seem like much but that extra second is an eternity when someone with Silence, Mass Charm, Frost Nova, Boulder Roll, etc. is standing next to you. That's also roughly one auto-attack worth of damage that you're missing out on when compared to the TB (which means you're doing less damage over time, especially since Regulus
How much gold do you get for killing a Demigod at lvl 1-3? I think it's somewhere around 1k but I'm not sure.
600 at level 1. 700 at level 2. 800 at level 3. And so forth up to 2500 at level 20.
Snipe does almost as much Damage as Fireball and has HUGE range and no minimum range
It does less damage at close range, has a large casting time which makes it easier to interrupt (and the fact that you're not auto-attacking or using other damage skills during the charge mitigates your overall damage output a bit), and has a much larger cooldown than fireball. In a given fight, I'm almost guaranteed to land two fireballs. Snipe isn't quite so reliable after
- Some type of reward for Buying Citadel Upgrades:
The reward 'should' be a greater push towards the team's objective. If some of the citadel upgrades aren't worth their cost in that respect (and I feel that several of them are in that category), then I'd say that's more of a balance issue.
But that argument lends itself to the notion that the Torchbearer's fireball only having a medium range means it's UNDERPOWERED, which it clearly is
My proposal is that when someone concedes, they leave the game, get their favor points in progress and that Demigod is GONE (not replaced by AI).
Personally, I'm surprised that this even needs to be discussed. Why the AI was ever introduced in a competitive setting like this is beyond me. You're not going to force people to play out a game that they don't want to finish so demonizing them is pointless but the winning team shouldn't be penali
It's not a feature and according to this thread, it's not something you should get comfortable relying on. https://forums.stardock.com/351951 That said, it costs way more than it's worth to do (in cash, time, and micromanagement) and as was said, it takes a while to get enough money to do it once, much less on a regular basis. As far as the thread title goes, there are probably different teams working on balance issues and bug fixes. One has
Simply, if the pantheon statistics are not reliable, that does not prove that anyone needs to be nerfed or buffed, it only proves that decisions should be made only after there are reliable sources for data.
The trouble I see with most complaints about this scenario is that they seem to assume that the data sources actually being used by the internal balance teams are going to be made public - which is why so many people keep deferring to Pantheon stats which
The +800HP favour item is clearly just an upgrade of the +400HP one, which is plain wrong.
Well, to be fair, the 400HP item also includes a death-penalty reduction. Although, yes, I'm sure we're thinking the same thing: Who wants a favor item that comes with the expectation of dying more often?
I'd prefer that more than a handful of the other items were given a comparable bonus, personally.
QoT would often times need TWO move orders for her shield to work.
Yeah, that was the one that got me last night. What's funny is that it only really seems to happen when my target is about to die. If we're just wandering across the map towards a fight, it's generally very reliable. It's like the targeting mechanics completely fall apart as soon as someone goes critical.
Fact is that if you take thousands of matches by thousands of players over weeks of time, and average out the win/loss ratio, a balanced demigod should come close to 50%.
Abilities aren't rated on the pantheon. One abilitiy overperforming isn't necessarily going to put a DG over the top in rankings. 'Erebus' didn't get nerfed. Bite did. Basically, what you're suggesting is that the UB and perhaps Regulus are both overpowered at the moment
Why are people so scared of change lol
Favor items are a mechanic that a number of people are already lukewarm about. Giving this one-choice-per-match system even more sway in a fight doesn't make much sense right now since, as was said, favor isn't working properly for everyone and the items themselves aren't anywhere close to balanced at the moment. Why exactly do you think we need this? There are piles of items available throughout a given fight t
The powers that be are well aware of this issue but still, it's public enemy number one in this game as far as I'm concerned. You have my sword.
To echo an earlier point, I don't think this really matters until more than a handful of them are actually useful. Personally, I'd rather seem them all balanced to some degree and offered for the same cost. But that's me.
*shrug* Keep playing like I always have, I suppose. Whether it's GameRanger or the official service, the venue isn't really that important to me. That's assuming I haven't moved on to something else.
Most reliable in determining what, exactly? I'm curious about the methodology that people are using to equate win ratios with specific character imbalances. If something was off about, say, the UB's Ooze ability, how would you gather that simply by looking at the fact that he's on top of the ladder? If the QoT had a horribly overpowered ability but the rest of her repertoire sucked, would she be exempt from balance discussions regarding said overpowered ability?
You can't argue with numbers.
True, but there seems to be a widespread assumption that public Pantheon statistics are the only statistics that the balance team have to go on. I'd be very surprised if that were the case.
If the shoe fits...
I don't know if it was intended or not but personally, I don't think it really matters. It wouldn't bother me at all if you did it in a game that we were playing. It's not like they're difficult to kill and the upkeep (in both time, cash, and lost experience every time you have to run back to base to re-stock) hardly seems worth the trouble, especially when one decent AoE can wipe the lower-level minions out.
Well sure, in Ashkandor's case but that insight comes a little late once you've already been destroyed by it. ;) And then, of course, the other changes like HoL or just heavily stacked armor and such are a bit more subtle but still make a huge difference in the outcome of a fight. Another benefit would (in theory) be a decrease in some of the more ridiculous claims of imbalance. Demigod X isn't overpowered. You can clearly see that it's Demigo
Cursory glance tells me that I like it. I'm not a fan of the way the economy works at the moment and this strikes me as a step in the right direction.
I hope that opinion will change in the future
As do I. Considering how big a difference they make, I think an opponent should have the opportunity to decide if they want to get murdered by Ashkandor or not.
You also state that you think he shouldn't be killing ppl.
The way I'm reading this, he's saying that the minions should have a larger hand in killing people and Erebus shouldn't be doing it himself with bite. To put it another way, the General shouldn't be getting kills - the minions should. At which point, I'm sure disagreement will ensue.
