and i also don't get how a map which is symmetric could be unbalanced...
Maps themselves aren't unbalanced but certain characters/combinations have significant advantages when, say, choke points are involved. And sure, everyone could play those characters but some (rightly, in my opinion) are always going to be concerned with the notion of having to play character X to be competitive on map Y. Oh, and on topic, I agree with the

It's been nearly a minute since I posted in a rage-quitting thread so... Ah, never mind. You were probably cheating anyway. /disconnect
Then i have to play the AI for 10-15 to get my damn favor points. Thats no fun for me.
And again, that's why the AI has no business being there in the first place. Take it out of the equation, give the winners their rightly earned win, and get on with life. It'll still suck when people quit but at least the people on the other team who stuck around don't get directly punished for it.
Yes... fitting titles like "The Elementalist," "Vampire Dude," and "Plant Bitch" would add much needed character to our heroes.
Regardless of whether or not it's balanced, it's been deemed an exploit by the powers that be and it will be fixed. So enjoy it while you can.
Changing the point value in the game.prefs file gives me the points I added in LAN play so I assume it draws from the single-player tally. Online multiplayer through Pantheon and Custom games uses it's own tally.
I think they should add a resistance stat when they add +spell power items.
That was my first thought. Once we have a way to improve abilities, then we can talk about gimping them.
I'd be for it if the skills didn't actually take effect until you closed the screen (at which point, no refunds). People taking passive boosts like Sedna's Healing Wind and then refunding after getting a few seconds of free health regen could be an issue.
If we're talking about AI's that can be added at the request of players, then those are fine as they are. It'd be a shame to lose'em. If we're talking about roving AI-controlled players that join competitive games and/or sentence people who want to match wits with other 'people' to random comp-stomp games, then no thanks and good riddance. AI players should be an option for custom games as they've always been. They shouldn't be randomly replacing human players (
Undo at point of sale? Sure (although, now that I think about it, I could see some potential exploits with passive effects like health/mana regen at the artifact shop). Full price resale anytime the player wants? No.
How is anyone (who saw that other travesty of a thread) 'not' getting that... *sigh* Edit:
Does anyone else think this is a deliberate mockery of some of the comments in that thread?

I assumed the awesome people liked a little bit of challenge.
Well, I certainly won't claim to be an awesome person as far as this game is concerned but generally, they do. They tend to prefer, however, that the challenge comes from being matched with other competent players rather than newbies who have been handed an artificial crutch. Don't get me wrong, I think the pursuit of greater fun for all is a noble one but to me, it seems that the actual p
I just noticed that you said you were fighting Oak when this happened... He wasn't using Last Stand, was he? The AI almost always takes that and it would have the effect that you're describing.
I'm also going to plant myself firmly in the "No thanks" camp regarding these sorts of handicap mechanics, especially in Pantheon. As was said, "Rage quitting" isn't going anywhere. What we 'can' get rid of are the punitive measures that the players who stick it out get slapped with. When someone quits, get the AI out of there. If the team quits, the team that stayed wins. They get the favor, they get their victory tally, and they move on to the next game
If, by late-late-game, you're talking about the point in the game where everyone's decked out in artifacts and auto-attack is the primary damage dealer, then just about every damage skill is horrible at that point. I agree that it would be nice to have more caster-oriented gear but Fireball isn't any worse off than other damage spells in that regard.
Well, damage is a pretty easy counter... Of course, that's more or less the point of the ability so I'm not sure what they're talking about. It's an instant-cast ability so unless there's an item or ability that instantly dispels it that I'm not aware of, what other clever 'counter' there could be?
https://forums.stardock.com/352218 That thread covered a few things that aren't already listed in-game. I'm not sure if it has all of the information about minion upgrades, though.
I thnik they cheat levels too, I had an ally erebus level 7 and my status bar showed the vampire aura buff which isnt available till level 15 :/
*edit Allies get a 10% vampiric aura for 15 seconds whenever an Erebus dies. This is normal, too. I've heard a few times about how badly the AI cheats but I've honestly never seen it (on anything less than nightmare, that is). Yes, they use a 'lot' of potions an
Nope. Buying -% Cooldown items is essentially the only way to increase ability-based DPS (with items) at the moment.
Well, as far as escapes are concerned, there is a difference between warping somewhere and walking somewhere, even if they happen in the same amount of time. When you walk, the enemy can follow you and continue to auto-attack. When you warp, unless the opponent is smart enough to walk straight to where you're warping, you'll put some distance between the two of you which might be enough to escape getting manhandled all the way back to your towers. Beyond that, however, yes
As long as the finger deals an inconsequential 200 AOE damage, I'm all for it. I'm surprised that GPG left out this necessary feature.
I think it'd be cool if Sedna did an extra 200 in splash damage with every Pounce, too but if it ain't broke...
So, I don't follow... why does the DG who currently has the easiest time with creep farming (ranged or otherwise) 'need' fireball to deal splash damage? Are Fire Nova, Fire Circle, and Rain of Ice not doing the job for some reason because they all seem to work exceptionally well for me. If this is another balance satire thread, then forgive my ignorance. Didn't recognize the name.
The AI only cheats on Nightmare difficulty. The Unfair AI in Sins did, too. What exactly is the complaint here? What is it 'about' the cheating that's bugging you?
I've been saying this for a while now. You're not going to stop 'rage-quitting.' The actual problem is that everyone besides the rage quitter (especially the opposing team) gets punished when they do it. Get the AI's out of there and give the winners the victory popup. Why they were added in the first place (especially in competitive play) is beyond me.
