What are you going to do when the connection issues are fixed?

Me, I'm probably going to research some kind of 24 hour disease in advance, fake the symptoms on the closest Thursday and take Friday off of work so that I can get in some serious play time. I have a lot of catching up to do. I'll also be taking my phone off the hook, apologising to my girlfriend, turning off the lights at the front of my house so people think I'm not home, stocking the fridge and cupboards with the requried gaming provisions and then get comfortable.

Wait until there's a patch to group matchmake for Pantheon/Skirmish.  Queueing solo is pretty lame in a MP game.

GhostNote: How would you like to see that work? We're in the beginnings of implementing that so it's good to get some direction from the people who will use it the most.

You know, thats actually not a response I saw coming :)

Temp solution might be to host a custom game with your friends maybe? In any case, I'll looking forward to the release of such a patch myself!

I'm actually sitting and waiting for a demo of some kind to come out-  I won't pirate this game but I want to at least taste test it first before I commit to spending money on it.  From the videos and my experience with DotA, this game sounds like it could be very very fun to me.

I'm actually sitting and waiting for a demo (which will never happen because they don't want to scare the customers off with by showing them the poor quality of the game) of some kind to come out -  I won't pirate this game but I want to at least test out how buggy a game can be before I commit to wasting money on it.From the videos and my experience with DotA, this game sounds like poor copy-off of dota and it is extremely frustrating due to the fact that it's filled with connection issues.

Frogboy:

It should be a lobby system for pantheon, where all of your friends/ clanmates join the lobby then cue for a team game.

You should be able to invite people from friends list, and chat area to join your pantheon lobby.

Fix the latency bug on the friends chat, and add a loud DING! so i know when it pops up

When the connection issues are fixed, Demigod online will still be unplayable, cause you're stuck against bots and no rankings.

*shrug* Keep playing like I always have, I suppose.  Whether it's GameRanger or the official service, the venue isn't really that important to me.

That's assuming I haven't moved on to something else.

So, you haven't actually played Demigod, as per your amendment to someone elses post, and your basing your entire opinion of the game on ... videos?

I'll go and find something else to complain about...

Well not really but I can imagine people doing this.

I'll save you some time and money.  Demigod flat out does not work, it has been a full month and the connection issues are very clearly not fixed.  Forget about Demigod, they've gone far beyond a reasonable time frame.  At this rate Demigod may never be fixed or by the time it is fixed the playerbase will be nearly dead.  Go take a look at league of legends instead.  Maybe it will be possible for people to get into games in that game.

Think Warcraft 3.  You should be able to send an invite to people on your friends list (or just people whose accounts you know)

They get a pop-up window or notification of some kind and accept it.  Once everyone you invited accepts (you invited 2 people for 3v3 matching) it starts the search.

If that's not going to happen, perhaps you can host a special kind of custom game - maximum 5 players.  People join it, choose their Demigods, and you click start - which starts up the matchmaking using everyone in the game.  You can password protect it if you only want your friends to be on the team.

Frogboy:

I also think a private lobby that you can invite friends to and then queue together is the best way to go about this.

From this lobby you should be able to either:

1. Queue together to play a game that meets a set of defined criteria chosen by the lobby creator. At the very least, the lobby creator can select one or more game types (Conquest, Fortress, etc.) as well as group type (2v2, 3v3, 4v4, 5v5 permitting they can actually fit into the game) and modes (Custom, Skirmish, Pantheon).

2. Turn the lobby into a public lobby and let other people join it. This allows the host to assemble his friends and then, once they are ready, allow others to join the game. What typically happens now is that the host has to keep telling people "Wait until so and so joins and then we start." In the meanwhile, he is kicking the last person that joins in over and over again in order to make room for his bud.

BTW, even though I am having lots of difficulty playing online and have only had 2 successful games ever, you guys have my full support and I will help in any way I can. Complaining about it is not going to make the problems go away however giving useful feedback could potentially help. In the meanwhile I'll keep playing LAN with my family and friends.
