Hey, aren't you supposed to be on holiday Frogboy? Would it be possible to have an "official 1.3 wanted features" thread? It would make sure everybody's requests, ideas and opinions are seen, and prevent the forums getting cluttered. Since it doesn't exist yet, you won't mind me mentioning my top request... Can we please have an option to prevent ship designs carrying
Evil Muppet
Thank you.
I don't necessarily want to alter the existing minor races, or their AI or anything like that, but how can I add pics and create custom minor races that will randomly appear in my games? Help would be appreciated.
Like I said before, Stardock should put a disclaimer on the box before it starts withholding support. They have to make users aware of these facts BEFORE purchase.
The AI does care about your borders. If you examine the window that tells you the +/- effects on your relations, you will ususally see it there somewhere. I've seen races decalre war on me in the past, when our relations were previously good. The relations nose dive happens when my influence is covering their worlds. I don't see it as much different to an opponent having more/less worlds than you. You might as well say opponents with more worlds have an advantage, so everyone should o
Sorry, could you repeat that?
Regarding influence, the Torians may have traded for it, instead of cash if their neighbours were broke. They also get population bonuses. I'm not sure if influence is related to the population per planet or just the number of planets.
I don't think you can. There might be similar pieces in the Extras tab though.
Mostly I play tiny or small maps. There are so many races/strategies I'd like to try that I find myself starting a new game too often. Smaller maps let me finish the games first. When I feel I've learned enough I might play a bigger map (medium/large) and see it through to completion.
Yes, the question was "Would you pay $20 for a multiplayer only expansion pack?" There were between 2500 and 3000 votes last time I looked. About 2 thirds voted No and a third voted Yes. Many people complained that it wasn't worded well, and should not have mentioned the price. I have to disagree with them I'm afraid. If Stardock have looked into it and decided that $20 is a reasonable price to produce it, then its fair for them to ask if we're willing to pay that amount.
I would say that Stardock's reasoning is fair, but... A warning should be put on the front cover of the case , perhaps saying "ONLY purchase this product new from a retailer". (Similar to food packets marked as "Do not purchase if this seal is broken")
@Mordachi - great thoughts! I often miss it when starports are completed, only to discover them weeks later doing nothing. Seperate tabs for millitary improvments and social improvment When I send 5 or 6 constructors to an Influence Star Base it is very annoying to have to scroll down past All the military upgrades to get to the two social upgrades on the b
In one game I named a large-sized ship "Star Raider", not realising that there was a pirate ship with the same name. Every time I built one I got a pirate ship instead. I haven't tried it again since then though.
Before I offer my suggestions, I would like to say that this thread has great potential to be read by a dev. If a dev comes in here, they will be more likely to take in the comments if the posts are reasonable. There are lots of things that I would like, but realistically they belong in an expansion pack, not a 1.2 patch, so posting them would be pointless and pollute the thread (making the devs more likely to skip them). Here are my suggestions anyway: 1) On the trade wind
I think the AI needs to be updated to take advantage of this, but I like the idea of the first strike system. It makes the movement if ships on the map a little more tactical.
The Beast Planet!
You name your planets after cities too? lol What is the cheat here? Did you sell some starbases to another side then purchased them back after you had built enough of them? I don't think that works. I've hit the 4 starbase limit on my recent game, and it included some enemy bases. I'm glad I got here after the first post
If there was an option to allow/disallow them in the game, then I'm all for it. I enjoy playing the tech-underdog sometimes, but I'll be pi... I mean 'annoyed'... if entire systems get wiped out. If they get implemented they should have to sit next to their target for 10 turns or something before they can attack. This is Galactic Civilizations, not Galactic Cheesification.
That would be interesting I suppose. I'm trying to work out how to mod the minor races at the moment to remove the ones I don't and replace them with my own. Imagine a planet of muppets... PS What the hell??? It says I can't post for the next 58 seconds, but this is my first post since I got here!!!
So which orifice are they speaking from?
I say "Death!" to the filth that is MOO3!
Hmm, maybe its one of the new hotkeys. I still haven't seen a list. =/
There must be a way. In my current game, I watched the defenders of a planet I flipped, fly a few squares away and start upgrading on the same square. I don't remember if they were still in a fleet or not.
I'm sure you need a vacation now Frogboy. You'd better call your family too before they send out a search party.
Damn double posts...
