I voted for Politics. I would like to see political random events, similar to the ethical ones we have already. For example: A picture of Netro Mancer looking angry appears on the screen. The message says "Altarian trade vessels have been attacked by rogue [Terran] vessels. What is your response?". The choices are: a) Compensate the Altarians for the lost ships and goods, and hunt down the pirates. (-200bc, +++relations) b) Hunt down the pirates, and turn over the good

If you capture an enemy world with a trade good, and disband the colony, the enemy cannot capture it back. You are still able to use and trade it as if it was still in your possession. =D

No, even if it required several modules (engines, weapons etc) it would be exploitable. People would build constructor fleets with lots of engines, race them behind enemy lines, assemble the death star and be ready to unleash hell in 1 turn, which would suck donkey balls. The AI would have to be much more aggressive in destroying starbases and constructors. Oh, and death stars are dumb too.

I know plenty of people who don't buy games because the developers concentrate on the multiplayer aspect and then bolt on a terrible single player side as filler. These games would be sooooo much better if they forgot the multiplayer and stuck with a good SP experience. Many people would buy them if they put the SP first, instead of the multiplayer. Those companies would get more money from the SP people, and I'm sure that makes good business sense. ^ Notice what I did there? <img

Reading this thread brought back wonderful Starcraft memories, not that I ever dabbled in multiplayer of course, but I'm still familiar with the cheese of peon killing (or SCV's). I really should dig that game out again... I hunger for battle. Anyway, the same tactic can be used in turn based games. The build up period at the beginning of a GC2 game helps to soften it, but its still possible to crank out fighters and go colony ship/scout killing early on. (Not over the whole map obvio

The poll has changed a lot since yesterday. How the hell did the Torians overtake the Korx??? As votes are added it should be harder to make the bars move. There must have been a really sudden anti-Torian movement. Have they become the new race to h8 in my absence!? Has someone zerged the poll with multiple accounts? It's a good job the poll won't determine who gets the chop, I quite like the Torians.

You will, at least in GC2. Plus, you'll be able to use the other new races too. They just won't be in GC3 as a major race (maybe we'll bump into a little colony somewhere as a minor race )

Well, my opinion is that bad races can be improved, but uninteresting races are a dead end. I know Brad cares about the back story, as the idea for the game evolved from a story he was writing. I suspect he will kill off the ones that are boring and he can't find good material for (such as the Korx) or ones that have been resolved and are no longer needed (like the Altarians).

it seems the Arceans are not especially memorable, despite supposedly being a neutral warrior race. Where's their story? The Drengin tried to invade them once. The Terrans sprang to their defense (probably why the Drengin hate them so much). That's just the short version of course. I don't have the li

The same thing happened to me! I took 4 Yor planets and my previously friendly neighbours the Torians suddenly decided I would be better off under their rule.

I think after 1.2, modding will really take off, which will do a lot for the community and the replayability of the game. I don't think multiplayer should be a high priority right now, but something interesting I would like to see is a kind of Galactic Campaign for everyone to take part in. Lets say an event is organized, (Terran vs Drengin for example), and each player who finishes a game uploads it. Someone takes all the data, and uses it to show how much the 'winner' has advanced c

I would like to see some lore/backstory added to the game. Tidbits are revealed about specific races as you gain levels in espionage with them. If you gain levels with more than one race, you also get extras about their historical relationships. It would make it a little more fun.

Also, up here in Canada, 50.5% does represent a democratically-based majority. If you recall, 50.5% of Quebecois voted not to separate from Canada on October 30, 1995. Based on that result, we retained our national unity. If we had held out for an "obvious majority", we'd all be eating Freedom Fries with our American cousins, singing the Star Spangled Banner, and readying

Please don't kill the Iconians... *sniff* The Korx suck, and the Thalans aren't interesting enough. Death to the bugs!!! Lets print up some "Save the Iconians" T-shirts! Actually, I also want a black one with a picture of a Torian on it, outlined in green. Above the picture are the words "I joined

I'm a little disappointed about the mini-pack, but that's life. At least we'll get the content at some point, which is always a good thing. Regarding the soon to be destroyed races, I notice the Iconians are number 2 in the poll! Eek! Personally I love the Iconians. Not only do they look cool, but they have the interesting backstory (vs Yor). I think the races to go should be the least interesting ones, not necessarily the least playable ones. I know Brad cares a lot about the backst
