I'm really not sure how it works, but it would make more sense if a roll to hit was made for each weapon. So, a ship with 3x 2-attack weapons could hit 0,2,4 or 6 in a round, while a ship with 2x 3-attack weapons might hit 0, 3 or 6. Err... or something.

That ad is cool, and i'm pretty certain it would have made me buy it if I was on the fence. I like the way you subtly inserted the word Orion into it as well. I just hope we don't get too many more "I bought GC2, but it's not MOO4. WTF?"-noobs on the forums.

Hi all. While I've been playing I've noticed two things. I'm not sure if they've already been mentioned or not. I've noticed a couple of instances where a civ's borders become twisted when they are squeezed between two other civs. What I mean is, if you follow the border around, you will get to a point where the lines depart from where they should be, cross over and form another inverted loop 'inside out'. In a way there is a tactical element, as ships are moved tile-by-tile and not simply to and from star systems. Choosing were to park your fleets to give them the optimum ability to strike first is tactical enough for me.

It only bothers me a little, because I only end up cursing myself instead of the program. I do see it as cheating, yet I can't stop myself - lol. I'm glad we have the option to disable this in the next patch. That's my second reason to get it (the first being random opponents).

Excellent! I'm particularly interested in the random opponent feature. Knowing who's out there takes away from the fun of exploring and first contact. I've recently bought the limited edition from a local store. I love the tin - very cool. The game has been well worth the money I've invested so far.

I've had this problem too. Downloading the patch now, so I hope it helps. Not only did the ships/planets spin at an amazing rate, the view of the galaxy began to zoom in, stutter, and jump to all sorts of co-ordinates, many of which were off the map. Holding the mouse button down stopped it, but as soon as you let go the fun would begin again. Ooh, patch is finished... here we go...
