Weird. Thought that I posted in another thread and it ended up here. Ignore me.

Where did I give the impression that I thought it was a terrible game? If it was, I would certainly not be here now. I said that it had lots of bugs. Many of them are gone now which makes it easier for me to enjoy the game. Want some cheese with that? Sheesh... can you point to a game which wasn't buggy when released? I'm glad that the "
What's the point? I already know that I would have given up on this game in less than a month if Stardock wouldn't have made any patches. I have no desire to relive all the bugs from the retail version. Thankfully, more and more of the bugs from the retail version are fixed with each patch. Maybe one day they will have fixed them all and can turn their attention to all the incorrect text that has been in the game since it's release. Sure, Stardock makes many and good patches but
Oh one quick note: beyond the above--having full troop ships just outside several AI planets should immediantely signal an alarm and action! It already does. Start playing on harder difficulties.
Nice, I like it. Looking forward to more.
No, they didn't have to do it that way. They could just as well have multiplied all sizes in the game with a large number and that way made the rounding down insignificant.
I built it once quickly on a huge map with abundant anomalies and then massproduced scouts that could survey and took approx. 40% of the anomalies. Not bad IMO. But I agree that it's basically useless on the smaller maps or when there aren't that many anomalies. If they only would respawn...
This is an old bug (it was in the release version). Very noticable on the larger maps. When you zoom in the mini-map, the game won't paint cultural borders on the whole map, only parts of it. You have to either zoom in and zoom out or middle-click on the mouse, to get the cultural borders painted on the whole map. <img src="http
Yes it would require a code change. I've talked with Cari about it but it's not on the list for 1.3 yet to my knowledge. That's sad. I would really like to see that.
Or you could retire at turn 1 and spare yourself some time.
Here are some bugs, both new and old, that I would like to see fixed. First 2 new ones concerning computer players intelligence level in the beta: Bug 1: The intelligence that you set at startup and the intelligence that the AI actually gets (or that it's displayed to get) isn't the same: Difficulty.......Intelligence it should get.....but foreign relations says Cakewalk.........Fool Easy.............Dunce Simple...........Beginner.......................Dunce<br
You write that the diplomacy has improved under one of the screenshots. However, the computer is cheating (or playing by different rules then the player) in that picture. If he hasn't Universal Translator, he shouldn't be able to speak with anyone at all.
Nice, I hadn't noticed that the nano recorders were in the game now. Makes the sensor techs even better. Hopefully the AI:s will research them too.
Frogboy (or anyone else at Stardock), could you please post all the bonuses/penalties that the AI:s get at the different difficulty levels now? It would be nice to know what has changed.
Thank you, CariElf. Changing the regional settings fixed all my problems. I saw your earlier post precisely after I had finished mine, I began writing it before your was posted No more graphic problems and all the jewelry are back on the ships. All the planets are back to normal too.
This beta is unplayable for me. I have the same two problems as Sam0t. Drengins are the only ones with correct ship with jewelry. None of the others have jewelry on them. The Human and Yor shipsets have strange graphical glitches all around them. In-game they cover most of the screen. I also have the lifeless planets, this seems to include all planets in the game, homeworlds and colonised. The only one that has any terrain is Earth but that's probably because it has it's own raw-file, it's c
I'm also sorry if I have offended you in any way. I'm very happy with the support Stardock have provided to this game so far and I hope you look through my suggested changes and see that they are in fact bugs.
Frogboy: Thanks for the kind words. As for users who don't agree with the "balancing" of weapons and tech, that data is in an XML file. Feel free to change them to whatever you want them to be. In the \data\english\ directory. That's no excuse. The few games I do have time to play are metaverse games. I can't fix it, you wi
There are far worst issues with the weapons branch of the tech tree. For example, near the end of the beam weapons branch we have Subspace Blaster and Subspace Annihilator. The Subspace Blaster is inferior to the preceeding Disruptors and the Subspace Annihilator does not exist! Other players I'm sure can list all the issues with the weapons / defenses tech branches. <
https://www.galciv2.com/media/darkavatar/gcda-2.jpg Since the Altarians got a new female leader and has a functional resistance in the expansion, I really doubt that they are going to be destroyed.
Which version of the game are you playing? If it's less then 1.2, it's time to upgrade. The NLC building wasn't available in 1.0 (the technology was in the game but it didn't do anything), it was added later in one of the patches.
Please add in tooltips for social and research production like you did for military production in the 1.1-patch. Would be nice to be able to see how much is from bonuses and such there too. But the tech tree does have some flubs in it that could use attention (Subspace Blaster weaker than predecessers, Subspace Anihilator missing but still have to research it, R
That isn't an omission which you would have known by now if you had read my (and others) previous post.
http://pc.ign.com/articles/682/682382p1.html The Yor absolutely detest organic life. It is their long-term mission to exterminate all organic life where they find it. There is, however, one other irony -- the Precursors designed the Yor such that they would use as their main energy source the same thing as the Iconians. The Yor "eat" in a sense; they have farming of a
"Frigate M5-7" means that the design was made in year 5, month 7. A number before and after, for example "2-Frigate M5-7X 4", means that the ship was upgraded into a M5-7 Frigate. I don't know what those two numbers are for. Here's what I think I remember the typical AI ship names representing: Fighter & Escort = tiny hull Heavy Fighter, Def
