My brother didn't have SP2 when he first bought and downloaded the game which had the result of lots of missing graphics. All problems disapeared when he downloaded SP2.

I don't agree on the border discussion. I't really unrealistic when a civilization would allow to have huge alien fleets passing by their key worlds when they don't know if they'll fly by or suddenly turn on them and attack. Instead of a very bad, unrealistic fix [closed borders], the developers could add m
Huh, I don't hate this. Wouldn't care if it was an option though.
Modding the game isn't an option since I play Metaverse games. And I'm quite amazed that you imply that a +1 sensor-bonus isn't useful in the beginning of the game. Having lots of survey-ships to find cash was also obviously meant for the beginning of the game. I always have a negative income the first year. This time it was in the hundreds in Dec, which wouldn't have been possible without getting lots of anomalies.
From past experience on these forums, if your game crashes alot, there is a 99% chance of you having 2-year old or older video drivers. Then there is a 1%-chance that you just are very unlucky and this game won't work for you.
I have read that Terror Stars are going to be in the first expansion. I'm eagerly awaiting them too. But every alignment should be able to use terror stars. Why would the Altarians for example care if they obliterated a planet full of Drengin or Yor.
Yeah, yeah, I know, I can stop playing them but they are just so addicting. In my latest crippling large game, it took me 7 turns to research the +2-speed module. So I could, after only 7 turns, build colony ships with 8 movement. I saved and stopped playing after half a year. I then had 12 planets. I had met Torians who had 10, Arceans who had 5 and Thalans whom also had 5. The total number of colonised planets are 80 or something and
It's cheating to gain an advantage the AI is too ignorant to capitalize on? No, I didn't mean that. I'm just saying that I don't feel the need to make it easier then it already is for me to crush the AI. <TR
In the latest Beta, everyone went nuts against me when I played the Yor. Out of six AI races, only one had neutral relations towards me and the rest were negative. I have no idea how I'm going to beat it, the Altarians are thwomping me. Everyone loves me when I play Yor. And I never ever trade with anyone
BTW am i the ONLY member here to feel a bit annoyed about the entire topic of multiplayer and GCII? I know i may get 'flamed' for saying this but for those of you who are whining about a MP add-on i have a question... Did you buy this Single Player game (knowing it was this before you purchased it) just to sit up and start moanin
Well, you could have done your homework and actually tested if it was possible before reporting it as a bug. A Manufacturing Capital costs approxmiatly 3000bc if I remember correctly.
It only adds 100% economic bonus unfortunately You gotta be kidding me. Or not realise what it actually does. It gives you a 100% economy ability bonus. That means that it affects all your planets. Which means that it will nearly double your taxes. That is unless they have changed it in one of the beta
I have absolutly no clue what you are trying to say. You can't download patches to this game, which you don't even own because you can't afford it??
Yeah, it has been mentioned lots of times. Hopefully it will be fixed soon.
I know that intelligent uses all algorithms and doesn't cheat. Since I have no problem beating intelligent ai:s militarily, I was thinking of moving up in difficulty. But it would be nice to know exactly what kind of cheats the AI gets with the different intelligences and difficulties. First, what do the AI:s get for bonuses at Gifted intelligence. It isn't listed in the manual. At Genius, they get a 25% economy bonus and at Incredible,
Yep. That's precisely what we'd do. It would be stuff for every race. And it would be quite a bit. . . . We're talking dozens of components here. Something roughly like an additional hull for each size for each ship style plus a bunch of new jewelry. So we're talking about a lot of stuff
The bottom line is: I spent money on a Fleet Manager, I don't want the attacker to gain an advantage because of it. If that's the way you feel. Stop building it. But since it provides me with a huge defensive advantage, I know I won't.
It's not related to espionage, it's random. False, the developers have said that this event is linked to the players espionage level. It doesn't happen (or at least it's frequency is lowered alot) if you have sufficient espionage on the other race.
The Banking Center should probably cost 120 or something.
No, there is a tooltip over Military production explaining where it's coming from. They haven't added it to Social and Research yet though, I suspect that those will have to wait for 1.2. I would also really like to see a tooltip over Food Production detailing the current population growth (in millions) and the population cap from planet quality.
Yes,k creativity gives you extra weapons or shields that are associated with a research item. Like the nano ripper. False. Everyone gets the nanoripper (Singularity Driver IV). And creativity doesn't give any other extra techs either.
The only change Ethics needs is the bonus actually need to do what they say they'll do. (i.e. Neutrals unique Weapons and Shielding Techs, it does no such thing) No, they need to change the descriptions so that they match the abilities. The neutrals have the Neutral Learning Center, they don't need any
That's probably a bug then since Terrans always start with the real Earth in sandbox mode.
1) has already been fixed in the latest beta. As always, you will need to start a new game to use the fixed planetary improvements.
No idea. I would just like to add that it would be nice if all homeworlds had .raw-files and not only Earth. It's weird that all the other major races homeworlds look extremly cool in space and completly generic on the planet view. I would really like to see this in a update/expansion.
