Sadly, that's not the whole box; just the top of it has survived, propped up on a bookshelf all this time...
Not only do I have a complete OS2 in the box... I also have a boxed Windowblinds ... and a GalCiv ...;) ......and XtreeGold too ...;)
As one of the 'per pixel' Notepad skinners from way back, I'm intrigued by the possibility of using AI to resurrect old, currently incomplete or incompatible skins to the current format (assuming I could find the original skin files). I have no other interest in AI but that I could consider.
Yes... if that could work it would be a plus, providing appropriate permissions were had ...;)
If you're still not convinced that AI generation is a massive threat, I don't know what to tell you. But I'm leaving this conversation for my own sake, because convincing you about something this obvious is a waste of my time.
I personally will never use it, and never have. There's nothing you can say that I don't already know. AI is the inept's way of creating 'art', simply painting-by-numbers except mo

All the communication proggies we have used over the decades ... all gone [or going]. Next step is I'll get a message "Teams will soon not be able to be used on Windows 7 machines. Please purchase a new computer to run Windows 11". Fuck that.... I have them beat [almost]. I run Windows 10 Pro 64 in a VM on my Windows 7 Ult 64 machine... Up their nose with a rubber hose, I say ...;)

Messing around with trade/tariff restrictions means stock exchange/investment uncertainty. What America has done in one day wiped $45,000 AUD off my superannuation. Money I had worked for for half a century. My choices will be simple. I need to die earlier than expected.

There was nothing more heart-breaking than looking down the barrel of what realistically would have been the end of OS skinning as a 'thing'. All the other sites dedicated to the craft are long-gone, so to see the composing of that message wasn't at all good. I still remember being messaged about a new site just about to come online ... you need to join up. That's how I ended up with the User ID number '23'. I wasn't with Stardock then, and the first 20 numbers wer
I must disagree with you Jafo that "Abandonware" as a term, was purely invented to justify copyright violations, instead of simply being used to describe software no longer sold or support offered.
Just to clarify....the declaration of what becomes called 'Abandonware' is a determination by the Copyright holder only. Finding old software that may not be relevant to modern systems does not define 'Abandonwa

Whether old or new, Stardock's products are proprietary and it is illegal to redistribute them without consent. The term "abandonware" is a construct created by people to attempt to justify violations of copyright. Stardock retains the exclusive right to determine what can and cannot be distributed by/to a third party. Unless there is a future change of position the answer is a simple "no".

Just a general reminder... anything politically based goes to its own forum. That's not necessarily an option/appropriate for an entire thread, so Political imagery is simply deleted. ...;)
Being told this, just encouraged me to Create A Monthly Topic After Advice on doing so from Jafo and Jan.
I doubt I'll ever be a massive fan of AI [certainly not until it understands Architecture as well as I do] but there is no doubt it is popular... the 'views' don't lie. It's only going to get more popular [and common] so me the dinosaur must give in to the new. I could see its popularity, hence the th

Number 021 is about 90% second hand. The only new bits are the PSU ... A 750watt MSI, the M.2 drive, 7 SATA cables and a PCIe-to-Sata card.... oh, and the CPU fan [Antec]. Everything else is second hand ...;)
Tiny suggestion...if you have one of those cylindrical pool floats (or the like) lying about, cutting an appropriate length and putting a slit in it can save your hand when you have to pick it up and move it. Tom...my suggestion was/is much the same reasoning as with Naroon's ... when the thread gets a bit big it can be hard for people to keep up to date with ... so many pages. Having your own dedicated thread or threads is always going to be more beneficial...people will know where to go and what to keep track of. Even if it's not Monthly...just when it's feeling 'large' and time to change...the new one/s can be 'pinned' as well to keep the current - er - current...;)

I know MS is having a lot of "fun" stuffing up their OS as I have several installs of 10 and every one has issues that are so basic and fundamental [critical] they should have been idiot proof somewhere around windows 95.</p
Something is blocking it, probably my virus protection software.
You are correct. The reality is...it did not "develop a virus", your AV program was updated with a signature database that was NOT properly verified as it has resulted in returning a false positive . AV companies are really only as good as how well they target problem files CORRECTLY. If and when they fail to do so it i
