This has been fixed and will be ready for our next update. Thanks.
CodeCritter
Sounds like your ElectionWnd.dxpack file was probably corrupted. Glad to hear the reinstall fixed it
Please post your debug.err file (unless you provided it with the game you sent).
Your debug.err file indicates that there were problems reading/parsing your ElectionWnd.dxpack file. This is probably why it did not appear correctly for you. If your next new game prevents you from having an election, please try reinstalling the game to make sure that the .dxpack file is not corrupted. If that still does not work, you could try changing your regional settings to English. I've put code into the game now to prevent elections from being always at "next week" whi
That is not a bug. That is by design.
Please post your debug.err using the new drivers. Thanks.
Please send your saved game to gc2bugs@stardock.com. Please put "ATTN: CodeCritter" in the subject line and provide a link to this thread in your message. Thank you.
If you are using a firewall program, you may need to set it up to recognize and allow connection for the new version of the executable. My firewall program recognized it as a different executable when I installed it at home, so you might need to check that.
Right-click the short cut select Properties. In the "Shortcut" tab, check the "Target" field/ It should say "C:\Program Files\Stardock\TotalGaming\GalCiv2\GC2Launch.exe" (If you installed the game to a different path, you would use that path) If it doesn't, change it so it does.
Please post a screen shot and your debug.err file. This file is in your \program files\stardock\totalgaming\galciv2 folder
Please send the non-working saved game (zip or rar if possible ) to gc2bugs@stardock.com. Include a link to this forum thread in your email message. Thanks.
Please get SmartException from Stardock Central. (In free stuff) This would be the best way for us to find out why it is crashing. Install and run it. While it is runnig, start up galciv2 and initiate the battle. When it crashes, SmartException will generate a report. Please see this link for more information on SmartException https://forums.galciv2.com/?ForumID=274&AID=69841 You could also try changing your battle length options (for example try
Please post your debug.err file. That is a good place to start. Also, if you are able to save the game and reload it, and this problem reoccurs, please send the save file to gc2bugs@stardock.com with a description of what happens. Thanks.
I invaded some planets but couldn't get this to happen. If you have a saved game with this planet description, please send it to gc2bugs@stardock.com. Please mention which planet it is in your message and provide a link back to this forum thread. Thank you
For those of you who might like the icon way, you can actually change your tactical zoom level in Options to make it always show icons. Just bring it all the way down to 0.
You can also increase performance by decreasing your anti-aliasing, which it looks like you did from your debug.err. Keep in mind, though, there is an image quality drop the lower this goes (Edges will look more jagged ) In version 1.1, there is an option for disabling point sprites. This may increase your performance, but you will not see any stars or spark effects from ships. In version 1.1, there is an option to "Hide Nebluae and Stars in Ship Preview Windows." This
I've added this to our bug database. We'll be getting to it as soon as we can. Thank you for reporting it.
Prozombe, The game reports that it was saved in 1.1 Beta 4. If you haven't already, please update to the final version 1.1. Try starting a new game with that version and see if this happens again. In the meantime, I have a few questions about the save file you sent in. First, did you save this game when your treasury was a crazy value, or before? I ask because the treasury looks ok when I load it. I played for a while and I did get an Economic Boom ev
prozombe, I have received your saved game, thank you. I'm am currently looking into the problem.
I got your saved files, thanks. Looking into it.
Nothing unusual sticks out in your debug.err. I can see where economy and influence starbases were destroyed. I don't know if these are the ones you saw disappear or not. I can also see where the rangers were destroyed (and this was after a random event - this is probably where your first rangers came from ) and where the AI (probably the minor race you gave them to) tried using them. If you have a saved game where this was occurring and wouldn't mind sending it in, I'd like to s
Reaver, You can still save and reload your metaverse games just as you would any non-metaverse game. The only difference is when the game is over you will be asked to enter your password to log into the metaverse.
Please try updating to the new version 1.1 and see if that fixes the problem. Thank you.
No problem. We'll still be able to get it.
Does this happen every time you try to use the fleet manager? It looks like your FleetManagerEntryWnd.dxpack file is missing or corrupted. ( Located in galciv2/screens ) Please try reinstalling the game.
