If the machines are violating all 3 laws, it doesn't seem like the laws play any role. Particularly after seeing Revolutions. First Law: A robot may not injure a human being, or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm. Second Law: A robot must obey orders given it by human beings, except where such orders would conflict with the First Law. Third Law:

Having seen the AniMatrix, machines had no compunctions against killing people. And they certainly still do it readily enough in these movies. I've seen it now, so who wants to start off the Revolutions thread so I can jump in? It'll be a wild ride.

Object Desktop "2002" _is_ 2004, so long as your subscription hasn't expired. You're still getting exactly the same components. But there comes a point when we have to update some of the branding across the board. This is the start of that.

That is probably an oversimplifiction. In the opening scenes with Smith, where we first see he's now doubled, there's the line about "It's happening exactly like before... well, not exactly", presumably referring to him having his new powers.

I've avoided reading some of the more detailed sites with speculation on Revolutions to avoid spoiling it. Just have my own speculations based on the film and what others have brought up here. But what's been brought up before with the dependence on machines (councilman interaction) and the oracle's "believe me, I know, the only way we are going to get there is together" and "you've made a believer out of me", there would seem to be some level at which they'll both have to coexist. I don't recall if I brought this up when we had the discussion originally, but as they are walking in to meet the Merovingian, somebody else is being escorted out. From the theatrical showing, I remembered Neo's glance over at him, but the gentleman and his escort were at the edge of the frame and you might think it was just a wide shot of them approaching the head table there. But whoever is being taken out shows up in some of the Revolutions trailers as well. As best I can

The IconX functions in DesktopX 2 (betas are at the 1.99s or t level at the moment). That'll work on all the OSes. WindowFX includes a function for scaling them on XP only, but it doesn't include the effects or customization that DesktopX does.

The skin browser and the integrated functions for the skin libraries in Stardock Central are both casualties at the moment. We're getting there though...

There are still liable to be some issues this evening. T-Man has worked like a fiend to get today's changes implemented in one swoop, but some stuff could still be wonky.

Technically, it would be more correct to say that it was an uninhabited island that was transformed into a center of learning and magic by Pug upon his return through the rift. Thanks to the generous donation of the Duke of Crydee (sp) years earlier.

The golf bit is an urban legend. http://www.snopes.com/language/acronyms/golf.htm Same with the Coca-Cola one. http://www.snopes.com/cokelore/green.asp And I believe researchers have now determined that a duck's quack does echo, but its got some characteristics that make it difficult to notice.

Only if Blue Thunder was strafing Airwolf while it was on the ground. I mean the gatling gun was nice and all (for "urban pacification", somewhat like running man), but Airwolf could go Mach1. Or is time addled my memory? And it had Dominic in the backseat doing his magic. And I wouldn't want to mess with guy who wears white suits and an eye patch...

OK, I think I've got this taken care of. Or at least it will be once everybody's DNS' update. We had added some new IP addresses to a server in preparation for bringing some new ones up. It appears that the IP's in question were still in use and the Internet routing was defaulting to them first. skins.stardock.com should now be 66.54.81.38.

Because that wasn't what GalCiv 1.x was designed around for the last 2 years? And you do have the tactical map option. Remember, everything you've played, the release, all the updates, that was all funded out of pocket by Stardock. We had to focus on making sure it worked. Because I'm pretty sure we all missed the glowing front-page game magazine previews years in advance. Kris
