There should always be a low level hero with a mounted troop patrolling any roads through woodlands. Great source of xp and gold.

I think that adventure tree and magic needs a tweak in the big september patch.
If it weren't for the MOBS I would have no economy (9 cities, two gold mines, OUCH!)
15 years of improvements in game design.
If you can't prove how it makes the game less interesting, then I don't think these "logigal suspension of disbelief" elements should apply. Good shoes make you walk faster, so does a horse. A light weapon makes you move faster in combat. I don't see the problem.
Firaxis can craft excellent games with a high degree of quality. Not buying Civ5 would be a mistake IMHO.
The first 20 turns is critical to getting a jump on the AI. SCOUT LIKE CRAZY and SPAM pioneers the second you are able. If you can get 3 cities down quickly this should not be a problem. If you turtle you will lose all sorts of turn advantages.
Since the latest patch that came out LATE last night, I created a new game, and killed the enemy soverign's wife just outside the city. Now her dead body is lying there and I can attack it over and over again and she keeps dying and giving me xp. When I load a save game, the death animation comes back (it looks like she dies after every restore) and the attack icon is totally available I can still keep killher her over and over and keep getting XP. My situation is dif
One reason. Life is like a box of glass. You never know what shards you're going to get.
I think someone just made the calcuation that they wanted to get the jump on Civ5 and it turned out to be a bad decision. More potential buyers were turned off by the avalanche of bad reviews than possibly would have been deterred from buying because they were enjoying Civ 5 so much. The company can and should recover by getting this product to a level of quality and polish that a gamer willing to part with 50 dollars during a recession will be happy to own. But if that do
Forward scouts! Spread our your older obsolete units across your frontier and use them to push your view as far into enemy and friendly territory as you can! A few properly placed scouts can save you the mana of having to teleporting your hero at the last second, and most importantly, it lets you see the composition of the stack heading towards your cities. Also I never want my champions without a clear something to do, so if I'm sending them out to kill 3 spiders and a rogu
Already paid for it during a recession but did not get a quality product. I'm dying to get my money's worth or even close. It was a lot of money that I already paid, so I really want to end up with a game that does what the documentation/promises/FAQS says. This is what happened with GalCiv1 and GalCiv2 and this is what happened with Sins of a Solar empire, however all three of those games games were released with professional polish and most of their stated featur
Magical worlds can be flat. It's a rule.
I'm finding that the game can get a little dry after an hour or so and some of the UI and bugs can build up frustration and I need another game to play to balance this one out. What do you play when you need a break from Elemental? I'm playing Batman Arkham Asylum. It's the perfect counterbalance to elemental.
Lol, don't exaggerate. You could win moo3 with the difficulty settings on MEDIUM by simply pressing the end turn button until the end of the game. This is considerably better than that.
Well in the current version everyone starts near a farm (I always had and assumed it was by design) and you can choose the special leader trait if you are afraid you're not going to be near metal, so I don't really see the issue. After you have expanded as much as you can with your starting farm, if for some strange reason you don't get any more farms, then just research the appropriate adventure tech and you will have more farms! And if that doesn't work, then add some ca
Espeically how much quicker you can get to those level 3 buildings! What do you think?
Think about what it would take you to accept a non agression pact to a random someone you thought you could beat. I doubt a human player would agree as quickly as the AI, even with teh increased cost.
I love the cloth map. It's so much easier to tell at a glance exactly what's going on in your kingdom. The 3D view is pretty, but the information it conveys is more obscure. Use the "smart player colors" option in the settings. That way you and your allies will always show up as green, neutral players will be yellow, and enemies will be red.
Thanks for the tip! I will try this!
What is the purpose of Charisma on a non-soverign?
The techs that "Reveal Resources", do they work on the etnire map or just the portion of the map that you have explored, or just the portion of the map where you have cities?
Do the fungi storage and other food enhancing buildings increase your overall food production or just the city they are in?
What does 10% or 20% production increase actually do for a hero? Do you hve to put him in the city? What production is increased? Just materials?
How do I build on a resource which has a friendly unit standing on it? There appears to be no way to do this if a caravan or unit happens to be standing on the tile.
Now that I had my first real weekend to focus on the new game, I noticed almost by accident that playing the game on the cloth map is superior in almost every way to playing zoomed in! Why it's better to play on the cloth map: 1) You don't have to rotate the camera to right-click your destination if it's behind a mountain. 2) The Grid on the cloth map view is much more reliable and responsive to clicking precicely where you want to go. <
