Ok, I've posted SysMetrix 3.44 (http://www.xymantix.com/sysmetrix/download), so download it when you get a chance and let me know if there are still any problems with Windows 7. I think I got everything taken care of, but don't have a system yet to test on, so I'm still flying blind. I did order a copy of Windows 7 64-bit, though, so I'll be making the leap next week! Calle, that's a great idea about the drives. I think it would be a nice addition for everyone, so I'

Computers kinda advanced a bit since your wee holiday....8 cores...way more than 2gig of ram [12 here] ...Windows 7 .... 64bit architecture.... I had to dump my 'meters' for ram and CPU use...they weren't playing nice. If you can drag Sysmetrix screaming into the third Millennium there's a whole bunch of peo
Ok, I think I've got the CPU, Memory, and TCP/IP stuff fixed :) I'll do some more testing and see if there are any other problems with Windows 7. My plan is to do another release in the next couple of weeks. By then we'll have a Windows 7 compliant version of SysMetrix and a new Website to host it! Nick
Yeah, CPU Activity doesn't work. Free RAM does, even with 4 GB and 64bit.
Hi C242 - it's been a long time! I finally got a Windows 7 machine and fixed the TCP/IP stats that were broken on Vista/Windows 7. I also noticed problems with > 2GB of memory, so fixed that as well. Can you give me more information on what's not working with the CPU? Is it completely broken, or is it just that it can't
Hi Guys, Sorry about all of the weather problems. Originally my code was looking for the year in the METAR report using '200x', so obviously that stopped working when the year rolled over to 2010. I fixed that and put up a 3.42 version, but unfortunately included an executable that had some of the new weather.com functionality in there that wasn't complete yet. So I replaced it with a 3.43 version that *should* be just like the 3.41 version except for the part about
So rather than downloading 2.83 GB over the course of an hour over the internet, it turns out I can just copy my PROGRAM FILES\STARDOCK GAMES\DEMIGOD directory to other machines (via a thumb drive) and all is well. This method is way faster, doesn't consume or require bandwidth, and works better for sharing over a LAN. I'm assuming that this is a sanctioned way to shared an updated copy on the LAN - is that right?
I couldn't find much in the docs, so I searched the forums. Here's what I came up with: 1) Goto http://anywhere.impulsedriven.com/home.aspx, login, click on demigod 2) Click on the 'If you have Impulse but would like to download a full offline installation, click here to download Demigod." link 3) Download the nine file (a few gigs worth) 4) Have the other LAN participants run the demigod installer from step 3 Is that
Yeah, I thought about the 'don't die' tactic already :) What I've noticed is that, even if I don't customize the angle, death always changes it. This means that I'll play it at whatever angle the game gives me by default, and get used to it. But if I die, then when I respawn the angle is now different. It's not that I necessarily like one over the other, it's the constant changing of the angle that's bothersome. I've basically decided just to take what's
I can definitely see how the element of surprise is good, but it sure would be helpful to anyone trying to learn the game. I like the idea of seeing stuff like that after the game or as part of a summary/replay. I think it would be extremely valuable to see how others played their DG, along with the items they chose.
During a game I often want to see what the enemy DG bought in the way of items. For example, he'll be able to evade well, or otherwise be really tough to kill. It's not due to unique abilities, so it must be due to items. Is there a way for me to see what he's bought so that I can learn from him?
So that doesn't work at all. Apparently 'reset camera angle' means that the game resets the angle to what *it* wants it to be. It always changes my custom camera angle when I die and the reset changes the angle to the game's default. So, every time I die, I have to painstakingly reset the camera angle. You can watch it do this by checking out the minimap. When the game starts, it's at a 45 degree angle. I change it to 90 degrees. After I die,
Thanks - I'll try the backspace next time and see how that works.
Maybe it's just me, or maybe it's playing differently with the patch, but now everytime I die it does this 'rotate the camera' thing when it does the blur-out/desaturate death sequence. It would be kind of nice if it didn't do that, or at least had the option not to, as it's really disorienting - especially after I've gone through some effort to get the camera angle just right. It's not that big of a deal, but I thought I'd mention it since it seems like new behavior that does mor
Yup, I guess the minimap is more of a HUD thing (where it's for display purposes only) and not something that you can interact with. It would be cool, though, if I could move by clicking on the map. In the meantime I'll do the 'click close then further away' thing.
Hi, This is probably due to the fact that I'm used to playing DotA, but I constantly find myself clicking on the minimap as an easy way to tell my DG to go to a particular area of the map. I'll click a couple of times, realize that it doesn't cause anything to happen, then scroll the map via the mouse to view the area of interest and click there to tell my DG to go there. This process is really slow, and just scrolling the map to the spot where I want to go
Hi guys! My ISP messed up during their last server upgrade and hosed the redirection of the domain - that's why www.xymantix.com went to the upholstery site. I've contacted them and it's all straightened out, so you should be able to get to the site now without any problems. As far as development status goes, I haven't done much with it for several months since my day job has kept me busy with 10-12 hour days. Everything should calm down
That new rocking effect is the coolest!
Heh - I didn't think you'd be one to hop on the next plane, Jafo! Especially if it meant tracking me down in a tent in a 40 degree snowstorm in Wyoming - without any computer or internet access no less! Oh it's good to be back to sane life in the city...
Right now I host the downloads on another machine for bandwidth reasons, and it appears as though that server died a while ago. I’ve been on vacation touring some of our National Parks, so have been out of touch for a few weeks. I contacted the guy who runs the download server, but it may be a bit before it’s up again. I’ll hang out for another couple of days and if it’s not fixed I’ll reroute the downloads to server that hosts the web page. For now yo

Hi Fuzzy, The program does absolutely nothing with extension registration or anything shell related. All it does is save a copy of the specified image as a .bmp in the program directory, set the current wallpaper to that image, and send the system message that the wallpaper has changed. Are you *sure* that something else couldn't have interferred? If the problem is in any way related to the program, I'd definitely like to solve it. But, I've tested on 2 XP systems, 3 Windows 2000 sy
I know it's subtle, but the shading and glare are effects on the virtual monitor on the upper left - not your desktop. If you check/uncheck those options, you should see the monitor with the preview change by showing/hiding the effect. I intentionally made those external files, so you can modify the .png images to change the glare and shading to whatever you like. Since they're just .png images that support alpha-transparency, you can do anything you want with them - they don't have to be use

Yup, it's exceeded it's monthly bandwidth. You can still download the program from the link that yrag provided since that's on another server. It should be up and running on the first as usual... Sorry about the hassle.
You can download the latest from http://sysmetrix.skwire.net/sysmetrix/sysmetrix-3.20.exe The website is currently down since it has exceeded its monthly bandwidth...
