Have you had a chance to try the Clean Boot steps yet? Sometimes another program or service can conflict with Start11, and this helps narrow things down. Many Surface Pro owners also use Start11 without issues, so if it were a broader problem with the Enhanced Taskbar, we’d likely see more reports from others with similar setups. That’s why I suspect something unique in your system may be causing
With the enhance taskbar enable, does the issue disappear if you restart explorer.exe after you switch to table mode? Thank you, Basj, Stardock Community Assistant
With enhance taskbar enabled, issue returns and is NOT solved by restarting explorer after switching to tablet mode.

Both force options either do nothing or actually make it worse. Force not-touch mode: https://youtu.be/5Wo409O6iwE Force touch mode: https://youtu.be/4lYXjNtr4Ts So all 3 options result in total misalignment except for automatic+keyboard attached. I hope this can be fixed and I offer to help in any way I can. I'd prefer automatic to work. If those options did end up working having to go in and manually select anytime I remove the keyboard for tablet mode is far f

I use Start11 on my Surface Pro 9 and for the most part its excellent. However I have noticed that when I remove the keyboard and it switches to tablet mode. If there are no applications open the taskbar contents and start button shift down partially off screen. Tapping the start button with my finger also seems to occasionally bring up the stock start menu instead. If I open any other apps then it shifts to that autohidden taskbar where you swipe up to show it, and the alignment is fine. Its

Nah, Steam games are fine. Its just Xbox app installed games which for me are Call of Duty and Doom. Like I said, the xbox app creates desktop shortcuts different for those.

Correction, reset icon for steam games DOES work but just doesnt take effect until after a restart of the app. I also found a workaround for thge xbox on pc games. If i rightclick in start 11 and create a desktop shortcut of the games instead, it produces a traditional shortcut and then the custom icon sticks. Dragging directly from start itself doesnt work at all with start 11 and dragging from windows start to the dock seems to create a broken shortcut. Windows throws an error. But

So your suggestion didn't really work, because it can't due to how Steam and Xbox game shortcuts are made. Steam and Xbox games are not run like traditional exes. They use a URL to trigger their respective launchers, but then Steam and Xbox shortcuts also behave different it seems. When dragged to the dock, an Xbox game appears to adopt the icon of its desktop shortcut. When a steam game is added via drag, it gets added as a blank icon. I can customize both, but while Xbox will revert if i cl

I am having issues with some custom icons not staying applied. At first I thought it was due to resolution as some are 512px and the ones that DO stick are 256. However, even with resizing them, they keep reverting to their defaults that are used when first added to the dock every time OD is reloaded either from reboot or simply closing and reopening it. This system is a clean install as of yesterday 9/26/2025. I'm only just resetting everything up. I have recorded a video of the issue and wi

I believe I determined my root cause. I use a small secondary monitor as a rainmeter display. It was positioned to the bottom left of my primary display, so it shared an edge with the start button. Upon moving it in windows to be top right relative to my primary display, the issue has currently stopped occurring. I also used "Dual Monitor Tools" to keep my cursor from moving to that second display. Happens a lot in gaming and gets really annoying. Not sure if that contributed to this, or if h

Huh weird, I coulda sworn I did but looking above i apparently forgot to post the link. Unless it got deleted for some reason. Here it is: https://youtu.be/6bwdowrN4Mc While its showing the previous version, the behavior is the same as of this post. The mouse is pushed as far left as it goes. The start button reacts to the hovered cursor, but which menu pops up is inconsistent.

Sorry for the gaps in replies. I get busy. So, no, nothing else that changes the Windows Explorer, Taskbar and/or Start Panel. I just completed a reinstall as directed and the issue persists. There seems to be this 1pixel wide area on the left edge of the start button when left aligned that causes stock start menu open with the Start11 menu popping up and then closing immediately. I i dont move the cursor and repeated click, each

Now on 2.07 and the issue persists. I have Start 11 installed on 2 PCs. One a Surface Pro 9, the other on my gaming desktop. The issue ONLY happens on the desktop. I wonder if it has anything to do with the desktop using an ultrawide monitor (3440x1440).

Video: Not sure if this is intended behavior or not. Sometimes, if I dont squarely left click the start button, it will sometimes open the stock menu instead of Start 11. I made a video, ( here ) its pretty easily reproducible. To the point where if i keep the cursor to the bottom left corner, i can toggle between the two menus with succeeding left clicks. I know the intended way to open the stock menu is Ctrl-click. I assume you, that's not wh

Having an issue with the taskbar where icons are no longer updating when apps are opened and closed, mouseover of an icon shows the wrong window preview, and when clicking on an icon either nothing happens OR it shows and hides the wrong app. Also, if an app has a tray icon and is fully closed, the icon leaves a blank gap and the taskbar runs off the right side of the screen. Below is a link to a screen recording of the icon behavior as well as a screenshot of the tray after I'd closed OBS.</

Can also confirm the locked icon issue. It goes away when I apply a static wallpaper but when I switch back to a .dream they lock again. I am also on the beta version on Windows 10 Pro x64. And now all of a sudden after a reboot I can drag icons with a dream running. So now there seems to be no repeatable reason as to why icons are locking.

Seriously? I post the error message as requested and so far not even an acknowledgement that it was forwarded to the devs or any kind of possible work arounds? Also, I have linked this, along with my slowdown issues to iTunes. With one or the other installed no errors occur and, in the case of OD only being installed, no slowdowns. As soon as both are installed there are slowdowns upon iTunes close and on shutdown explorer throws those errors. Clearly there is a major issue given the uptick i

I am also in the midst of a bit of a test as I suspect ObjectDock to be the source of a persistent error on shutdown that reads something to effect of " the memory allocated at 0x(address) can not be found at 0x(address)." Something is clearly not quitting properly when I shut down. I've had this error from Windows 8 to 8.1 and now again on Windows 10 and could not determine where it came from. Recently I've realized it seems to start after I install ObjectDock but I cant be sure

At this point i let the ticket close even though it still chuggs when closing iTunes rather than get stuck in an endless loop of run this report, uninstall everything and reinstall again, etc. Worked perfectly fine with every version of iTunes including the present one on Windows 7, 8 and 8.1. Now all of a sudden iTunes is a "resource hog" despite much bigger hogs such as full on games and a pile of web browsers dont affect anything. Something changed with Win 10. MAYBE its an ofd video drive
