Start 11 sometimes opens the stock start menu?

Video:

Not sure if this is intended behavior or not. Sometimes, if I dont squarely left click the start button, it will sometimes open the stock menu instead of Start 11. I made a video, (here) its pretty easily reproducible. To the point where if i keep the cursor to the bottom left corner, i can toggle between the two menus with succeeding left clicks. I know the intended way to open the stock menu is Ctrl-click. I assume you, that's not what I'm clicking. I also on occasion have had the right click menu on the taskbar fail to show the start 11 version. But so far I am unable to regularly reproduce.

Start 11 version: 2.06

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Please try the latest version Start11 v2.07 Beta and see if it still an issue. https://forums.stardock.com/526650/

Thank you.

Now on 2.07 and the issue persists. I have Start 11 installed on 2 PCs. One a Surface Pro 9, the other on my gaming desktop. The issue ONLY happens on the desktop. I wonder if it has anything to do with the desktop using an ultrawide monitor (3440x1440).

Do you have any other application that also change Windows Explorer, Taskbar and/or Start Panel? If not, please try this. Uninstall Start11, reboot immediately, redownload latest version, install it, reboot again. Retest and report back.

Sorry for the gaps in replies. I get busy. So, no, nothing else that changes the Windows Explorer, Taskbar and/or Start Panel. I just completed a reinstall as directed and the issue persists. There seems to be this 1pixel wide area on the left edge of the start button when left aligned that causes stock start menu open with the Start11 menu popping up and then closing immediately. I i dont move the cursor and repeated click, each one alternates opening, basically toggling back and forth between Start11 and stock menu. This does not occur when the button is centered.

Please post a video of this happening so we can understand it better.

Huh weird, I coulda sworn I did but looking above i apparently forgot to post the link. Unless it got deleted for some reason. Here it is: https://youtu.be/6bwdowrN4Mc

While its showing the previous version, the behavior is the same as of this post. The mouse is pushed as far left as it goes. The start button reacts to the hovered cursor, but which menu pops up is inconsistent.

Also, of note, I also have Start11 on my Surface Pro 9. It doesn't exhibit this issue. So I wonder if its something to do with the ultrawide monitor on my desktop machine.

I get the same, seems like a active click area issue, it's on the very edge of the start button as OP mentioned.  The gap area just right of the start button's mouseover highlight brings it up no problem.

May I know from both of you, What is your brand of Monitor and do you installed its monitor managers. For examples, Dell monitors come with its own Display monitor manager software, which might conflicting with Start11.

Also, halcyon6969, need to know more on your system. Windows full version/build number. Use Winver.exe. And you also on Start11v2.07?

Win11 23H2 (22631.3447). Start11 2.07. No extra monitor software.   I can make it happen just clicking in the space between the Start and desktop buttons on the taskbar.

Please try purge and reinstall steps as mention here : [Link]. Just make sure to redownload the latest version from your account page. Reboot after the purge. Reinstall and reboot again after the installation. Retest and report back here.

There was a very small spot which made this possible in 2.06 but 2.07 resolved this.

If this continues having tried uninstalling, rebooting and reinstalling then your OS scaling factor would be useful to know along with it you are using a custom start button.

I believe I determined my root cause. I use a small secondary monitor as a rainmeter display. It was positioned to the bottom left of my primary display, so it shared an edge with the start button. Upon moving it in windows to be top right relative to my primary display, the issue has currently stopped occurring. I also used "Dual Monitor Tools" to keep my cursor from moving to that second display. Happens a lot in gaming and gets really annoying. Not sure if that contributed to this, or if having a second monitor alone is the issue.

I will also note, I did just try that purge script and reinstall and that didn't do it. I had also installed Alienware Command Center for my monitor. Removal of that did not help. It was only when I relocated my 2nd screen like this: https://imgur.com/a/V4e0huN

Just as a test if you disable that "Dual Monitor tools" and put back that rainmeter display monitor to its previous location does the issue return? Appreciate if you can test that.
