Found a solution but it is very messy. Using Windows Explorer replace the settings content in ObjectDock with the settings from the 1.9 version and it works. However it only works for one theme only, there is no provision for multiple themes, consequently you have to backup each version and switch between them in Explorer. What a pain in the ass! What bright designer thought this was a good idea? Frankly, the 1.9 UI and functions were better as it theyvwere and the layout was much, much bette

I have some comprehensive themes in my 1.9 version of ObjectDock on a desktop machine but I cant see any support for importing (loading) these themes into my latest version of ObjectDock 2.0 on my laptop. I synchronize everything I can between these two (Windows 7) machines except ObjectDock. What do I have to do to make use of these themes in ObjectDock 2.0? I even tried to load and install ObjectDock 1.9 again but it wouldn't activate </stro

I'm logged in! I cant change my User Name - which has mysteriously changed to my email address - because my "password is invalid". Why can't I change my User Name and why does it tell me my password is invalid if I'm already logged in?

Hi Sean, At last ! This version of Stardock and the activation went as smoothly as it has done in the past when transferring to a new machine. Many thanks for your intervention, I will now close the Post.

Just a thought, the email address I originally used has been changed to the one I currently use, would that make a difference? The new one has been registered with Stardock for some time but might the serial number be equated to the old email address?

Thanks for this AzDude. I've undergone this several times in the past when changing machine and every time it worked with no issues. I've also installed Stardock products on my other Windows 7 machine, again no issues. This time however it won't activate on my laptop under Windows 7. I'd include a screenshot but there's no provision for this here but it shows the email with all my products together with a 'download' option followed by the serial numbers, the activation screen fo

I can't activate Objectdock despite using the download and serial number sent to me via email same day. I get the message suggesting the serial number is wrong (the one that came with the download), or the firewall is blocking it, despite being able to activate Windowblinds at the same time. I've tried to activate it twice manually by pasting the requested detail and serial number and sending the email as requested but don't know what I'm waiting for now. Instructions very poor. I nee

Frankell, The solution was right under my nose. In Adobe Photoshop Elements I simply opened the .Gif animation and saved each layer as a separate .png file, each file representing an animation frame. From these (60) frames I used AniUtil.exe and et Voila, created the Animated Docklet complete with transparency as a 'Strip' image which is also used as the file icon. So, for the benefit of anyone else watching this post, or who happens across it in the future, in s

Frankell, I have emailed you the Desktop Screen shot as requested plus some other stuff. I won't pursue the .apng route any more now. I've got a couple of other options up my sleeve but I thank you for all your help - and patience. I will let you know if I make any progress. Hope you like the Desktop Dock and Docklets. arrivederci e rallegra [e digicons][/e] [e digicons][/e] [e digicons][/e]

This is it Frankell. I couldn't figure out how to get the mouseover and magnify any part of the Dock and hit the Capture Dock at the same time. Nevertheless, I hope you get the idea. The dock is a dark mirrored perspective with reflective Docklets. Hopefully the 3D rotating shortcuts are next. The Docklets are sized and reflected in such a way as not to originate from the foot - or nearest edge - of the background. At the same time ensuring the foot of the i

Hi again Frankell, When I say Windows Explorer I mean the Windows file manager. I know that Windows Internet Explorer doesn't support APNG animation, so I wouldn't expect it to animate like Firefox. The problem was, the .apng animations I have created all work fine in Firefox and also in other Gif Editors but they don't work as Animated Shortcut Icons and they don't show as 'strip' icons in Windows Explorer. The file icon is

I have a prosonal image in my account settings but don't seem to have the option to upload an Avitar or a Desktop Image. The buttons are there, they are not greyed-out but they don't work. Is it something to do with my account status or what?

This certainly works, and the APNG 1.4 Editor in Ffox 3 also works. Dragging both of their .apng converted animations into Ffox shows the elusive rotating star. However, both of their icons in Window Explorer show a fixed single frame image unlike the 'Spinning Globe' or your multi-coloured Ffox animation which shows the icon as a 'strip' of .png images. Neither works as an Animated Shortcut. So, what am I doing wrong, I've missed out something if the animations are not showing as 'st

Looks like I'm not going anywhere converting these .gif animations. I've even tried rebuilding every frame in a gif and saving them as fixed sized .png frames but even that wont work with AniUtil, it still thinks they are all different sizes. I've tried out several of your animations in Ff3 and they works fine, so perhaps I'll use the APNG 1.4 and keep the animations less complex. Someday soon I'll publish the 3D docks/docklets I've developed and perhaps by then I'll have

Hi again Frankell, I can see you are well into animation, your name has popped up in the Firefox APNG 1.4 add-on site. I have a question for you if you don't mind. I think its a shame there is not support for .gif animations but what can you do? Creating an animated (A)png is proving more difficult than I expected. I have an animation comprising 60 frames. A Mercedes Benz rotating star. Originally a .avi then a .gif both work equally well. To get the .gif animation converted to a

Hi Frankell, Y'know, it all seems so obvious now. After trying DaveRI's suggestion I couldn't see any reference to 'New "Animated Shortcut" Docklet'. It just wasn't an option. As i said previously to Bichur I had Anishortcut.dll located in C:\Program Files\Stardock\ObjectDock and also in C:\Program Files\Stardock\ObjectDock\Bundled Images\Misc Icons where Globe.png lives. For some reason I had moved all my docklets to this folder as far as I can remember - to synchronise wit

Hi Bichur, I've tried the .PNG spinning globe, along with others and what is displayed is the image with all the frames, but it does not animate. Anishortcut.dll is located in the same folder and - just in case - is also located in C:\Program Files\Stardock\ObjectDock. So what am I going wrong, if all you guys get at least the spinning globe to work? I've tried .PNG, .GIF and .AVI but still nothing. What is it that triggers the animation itself?

I've created several shortcuts in OD Plus (1.9.535) and given them animated GIFs but can't get them to work. Am I understanding this correctly, the shortcut requires an animated GIF only which will animated on mouseover? There are no other settings I can find to distinguish these animated shortcuts from a static shortcut. Or have I got it completely wrong again. All the GIFs do animate incidentally.
