Jafo, 1. It would have been nice, much better IF I had been given a way to contact you or Zoomba. I feel this issue could have been resolved quickly, one way or the other. I'm assuming of course, that I would have been treated as kindly and fairly by either/both of you as I have been over the years by my contacts with Stardock support who have been nothing less than stellar. 2. May I humbly suggest that a note be posted, perhaps in the Wallpaper upload section as to the policy

Was the wallpaper sent to your personal page or was it in a totally wrong gallery (like logons)? If it was regulated to your personal gallery that's the way it is. It was decided that even if a skin or wall wasn't "ready for prime time" on the main page an artist should still have the opportunity to show it off. Sorry you didn't get your expected response in your expected time-frame. I can't explain that but I'm willing to take a shot at helping.</div

2of3.... you misunderstood and misconstrued what I wrote above. I wrote: " My respect for Wincustomize has dropped considerably from this. " I have been an Object Desktop and Wincustomize subscriber for many years. I will continue to be a loyal customer and supporter of Stardock. But I will not be submitting any further skins, wallpapers, etc., to Wincustomize nor renew my 2-year Wincustomize subscription unless I someday get a reasonable response from Wincustomize about this matter. <b

Thanks for pointing out how to delete the wallpaper in question . . . DONE. I won't be submitting anything further to Wincustomize, which I also stated in my last ticket reply to Stardock support. Having something not approved is fine. But approving something and then not displaying it in the item's respective Gallery and further not responding to queries is unacceptable. My respect for Wincustomize has dropped considerably from this.

I have submitted a ticket to Stardock Support on this issue but they replied that it is beyond their area of support. The information was forwarded to Wincustomze but I've heard nothing for several weeks. What I would like to know is how to remove an item from "My skins" which isn't showing up in the regular Gallery. There is the option to "Edit" the item but I can't find a way to remove it. THANKS

I also had a terrible time trying to update to the new v. 6. First, SDC prompted me to update itself, which I did. After the auto restart of SDC, I selected WindowBlinds 6 and read the "History" information, which also stated what version of SDC was necessary before updating to WB 6. I checked the just updated version and it was the correct one. I then, according to the destructions, tried to uninstall v. 5.5 but it failed because it said some file (sorry, can't remember which one, but

Yep, I just tried SDC a few minutes ago and the "Object Desktop" section is still blank!

I've done searches and can't find the saved WindowBlinds. It says its in a Temporary Folder. What Temporary Folder? Can't you save them and load it later? There seems to be problems with them, so can't I save it to a folder or DVD? Instead of going through the hassle of trying to find those downloaded skins, right-click on the "Download" button and choose, "Save target as" which will bring

I was using WB trial then bought SDC and upgraded to the full WB only to find it's not working at all. Going to try a clean in stall of it once SDC is able to connect to SD again It is absolutely a MUST, that you uninstall the trial version of WindowBlinds and reboot before installing the purcha

Simply typing: "Bump" would have sufficed rather than blurting out a pejorative toward the very folks that might help. Not too intelligent, eh?

I'm running Vista Ultimate 32-bit and WB 5.5.1.025. In the WindowBlinds configuration window, when I click on "Windows Aero", the preview displays Windows XP Style. . . very strange. Would anyone know what causes this and more importantly, how about a fix? I've contacted Stardock support but perhaps someone here might respond faster. <a href="http://img227.imageshack.us/my.php?image=wbconfigurati

The MS drivers for a lot of cards are absolute cr4p. Those "MS drivers" which you call cr4p are only provided as a service by Microsoft. They are provided TO Microsoft FROM the manufacturers, generally as interim drivers until they release the full updated drivers for their respective products. It is always prudent to check the manufacturer's website for updated drivers rather than relying upon what came with the O/S, whether it is Win 98, XP or Vista

vStyler, I have to agree with you and others who have commented on this issue. Personally, I think "60 days" is more than generous to try WindowBlinds; double that of what most other software developers offer on their Trial versions. Perhaps Stardock might consider offering a fully-functional trial of WindowBlinds and offer it for the typical 30 days? It would be interesting to learn the reasoning behind Stardock's choice to cripple WindowBlinds as they have. They may have a good reason

1) The "misfit" comment was NOT directed at you personally. IF you misconstrued it to be so, that's unfortunate and I do apologize if I somehow gave you that impression. 2) Your negative assessment of Microsoft's business policies is not one I personally share. I have found Microsoft to be more than amiable, helpful and surprisingly generous in all the times I have contacted them over the years, albeit those times being few. Do I think that there is no room for improvement? Of course no

. . . but MS does many odd things, most of which are designed to increase the amount of money they can manage to pry out of your pocket. Yeh, that Microsoft evil empire is something ain't it? I mean Apple and every other corporation in the world is the antithesis of Microsoft. None but Microsoft has the bottom dollar as its prime interest. Personally, I couldn't care less what Microsoft's internal policy is nor it's goals. All I care about is product quality

That's YOUR experience and hardly typical of the hundreds of thousands of others who have installed Vista without issues. Comparing Vista with ME is ludicrous and reveals a measure of ignorance on your part. Most problems encountered, regardless of what O/S one is using are due to user error, either during installation, because of some alleged "tweaking" that was done that was supposed to improve how Microsoft designed the O/S to operate efficiently and productively or the machine has mal

Reply to Question in WindowBlinds

What you see is "normal" since the Trial version only will display transparency for the default skins that came with it. Downloaded per-pixel skins won't display their transparency properly or at all.

PS! If you have Vista installed and try to install XP as a second OS it wont work. You need to have XP installed then install Vista over it. Sorry, but that isn't true. Although the preferred method is to install the "older" O/S first and then Vista, it can be done the other way round. There are plenty of threads on this subject which one can read here: <a href="http://www.pro-networks

Are you SURE it didn't install the skin? 1) In the WB Configuration window, click the "Rebuild List" button. See if the skin now appears in the Previews. 2) Open Windows Explorer and browse to the WindowBlinds/Skins folder and see if there is a folder with the skin's name there. IF the downloaded file was either a .zip or .rar file, you might want to open it to see if there is a ".wba" file included. IF there is, extract/copy the file to another location and try to ins

No problems here with WMP and WindowBlinds. Are you running the latest updated [beta] version of WindowBlinds?

I can confirm that WB5 per-pixel skins cause problems with the clipboard. I've reported this to Stardock some time ago. I use "ClipCache Pro 3.1" to capture "copy" items and then quick paste them in other applications. The "Quick Paste" feature does not work with a "per-pixel" skin but it will work with non per-pixel skins. I mention this only that it may be related to the problem you are having with the "PrtScn" key since it involves a copy/paste function. So, try an older WB4 type ski

How about Enhanced File Dialog?? I have become almost dependent upon this great little app. I'd miss using it if it isn't compatible.
