I've been having a variety of very annoying issues with various themes; what will happen is, when I apply the theme, the tab bar or menu bar will be drawn on top of the title bar on the window; in many cases this makes the minimize/maximize/close buttons (on the title bar) inaccessible. The program that I see this most frequently in is ConEmu (a container program which lets user run multiple consoles in tabs, in one application). However, it happens with other programs as we

Yes!! That worked, after a bit of suffering... uninstall also failed, saying some .dll file was missing. So I tried re-installing and rebooting, which didn't make WB10 work correctly, but it *did* allow me to uninstall it, and then after re-installing and rebooting, it works fine!! You may want to warn people to uninstall WB8 before upgrading to WB10... at least on Windows 7... something didn't go right there... However, it's working now, and seems to b
Can I set the skin to let Windows render the taskbar, and have the skin just skip that element? That's not ideal, but would at least make those skins usable...
Oops... and neither Start10 nor Start8 can be installed on Windows 7 ... Is there a Start7 that I can try, and see if it works for me??
Just to clarify, though, I'm using Win7, not Win10, so looks as though problem exists with both OSs. Any idea on a timetable for fixing this bug? Is it a "fix soon" or "fix someday" issue?
No, I use ClassicShell for Start Menu
I've been using WB8 for a while now, with no problems. Just upgraded to WB10 at Stardock's email recommendation. It installed and loaded with no problem, but I cannot change styles; the "Apply style to desktop" button does nothing. Any idea what is going on? My system: Windows 7 64-bit.
When I first installed WB8, I spent several days wandering around WinCustomize.com, and downloaded many skins which I am much enjoying!! I face one frustrating anomaly, though... more than 1/3 of my favorite skins are older-style skins, from when there was no taskbar... I can install them, but when I load them, the taskbar is completely messed up; in most cases, it is rendered as a mottled, often-unreadable bar that is roughly the colors of the theme. In many cases, the icons ar
Excellent!! I've been so worried that MS would cripple the Win10 interface so severely that no font recovery would be possible at all...
One of the major reasons that I'm resisting upgrading to Windows 10, is that essentially all control over screen fonts has been removed. I cannot even easily set my desktop font!! I really don't understand why MS is so determined to make this OS as ugly as imaginably possible... Anyway, I know WB10 is actively being developed and tested. I would like some insight into how much font control, if any, it will restore to us on Windows 10 ??
Wow... I'm, ummm... just Wow... Thank you !!! It is gorgeous, that was perfect!! I've extracted both of your messages into a reference file, which I'll keep with my WB registration info... Would it have even been *possible* for me to figure these things out myself?? I had three different SkinStudio tutorials opened, but they all had soooo much information, and none of it seemed to talk about the Explorer images... I was very discouraged.
Amazing!!! I thank you so much for all this data, I'm looking forward to working on this tonite...
Yep, I'm going to do your suggestion tonite!!
I tried Hardwood; in fact, I think it came with WB 8.13. However, it has the same bright-white-Explorer issue that XP Wood had. However, it may have a different root cause, since with Hardwood, Jarte also has the BW curse, which it didn't with XP Wood. Also, I think XP Wood is *much* prettier than the other wood themes that I've looked at here, though BurlOak is pretty nice too
Thanks for the notes, @DaveBax ... I'm going to have to do some studying then; the change that I want to make here - to make Windows Explorer background something other than Bright White, is a change that I'll need to make in most of the skins that I've downloaded. Unfortunately, what that change is, is not at all apparent in the program. SS shows the Windows Explorer background as being appropriate for the skin, but in reality I just get White... Hopefully I can
Yep, I realize it's an old skin, but was hoping if I saved it with current Skin Studio it would save in current format, but perhaps I'm wrong. OS: Win 7 64-bit WB 8.13 SS 8.0
I'm using 'XP Wood' by Joseph Crowell. When it is displayed in the preview window of configuration dialog, it shows window backgrounds as being a nice beige color, but when actually loaded, the window backgrounds are all Bright White. I opened the skin in Skin Studio, but it doesn't show any white regions anywhere in the skin. How do I gain control over this display??
Hi all! Okay, I love WB, and have been having a ball playing with new themes, and am amazed at how stable WB is across many theme loads; in the past (V6 days and earlier) that had been something of a problem... There is one issue that I'm having with many of the available skins; there are a couple of desktop details that I'm pretty rabid about: 1. A couple of the desktop fonts, I always want to stay where I set them... the mos
Wow!! It's so cool to be back with WindowBlinds again!! And it's working soooo smoothly now... Thanks!!
Yes!!! Thank you very much!! What a relief.... So what eula actually applies to to WindowBlinds?? I'd like to use WB on my laptop as well as my desktop machine; I know in the past WB did not support that, but want to check now, since I'm buying WB again, for first time in many years...
I noticed on the StarDock eula, the following statement: An Individual User may: Install, use and activate one (1) copy of the Software on up to five (5) unique personal computers simultaneously that are owned by you for your personal use. For Software acquired from Stardock via an automatic recurring payment subscription metho d you may install, use and activate th
