I'm new at this so, please give me some grace here. I would like some basic instruction on how to download and implement additional docks etc. My problem is that when i download from the OD gallery wether in WC browser, IE, or Startdock, the file in in zip form. How do i get it into the image folder or where ever it is suppose to go so that i can change my docs and do other stuff? other than that this is a great product. i use it exclusively because it looks great and is very efficient.

I just got objectdock plus yesterday and I'm trying to figure out how to use downloaded material. Yesterdat I got Twilight Tabs from WinCustomize and I need to know how to extract the zip files as well as the path. Please Help.

You need to unzip them to here: C:\Program Files\Stardock\ObjectDock\Backgrounds

choose appropriatly based on what you have downloaded

 

Any unzip program should allow you to  .  .. well . .unzip.

I've got 2 questions:

1) The Show Desktop Button works as <Winkey>+<D>, is there a possibility to add an Button that works like <Winkey>+<M>?

 

2) I wanted to display the original system tray with the system tray of OD+ but there i've got a problem. I'm using Miranda as Messenger tool and it shows ne Messages in the system tray. If I#m klinking on the system tray icon after i got a message to open it the is an error message.

It says: Runtine error

            Line: 23 and something like synchonisation problem

I have a question, I just bought objectdock plus the other day and downloaded it. However, I can't tell weather its running since I already had the free version. How do I know if Plus is working or not?

OD (Free) adn OD plus will conflict.  Uninstall both and then install +

I had to uninstall odjectdock, and now when I try to reinstall it, its goes like 2% then says

Error: The file C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Appliciation Data\Stardock\ObjectDock\AppImages.ini could not be open.

Please help! I love this program, it's one of the reasons I havent left and got a macbook, and now its not working!!

Hello I am having a problem with installation of ObjectDock. it is the free version of ObjectDock and i have vista. After 2% of the instillation i get an error message that says  C:\Users\...\AppImages.ini could not be opened. what do i do to fix this? i love ObjectDock and want to reinstall as quick as possible. I have just installed ObjectDock, and here are several questions about:

1. blinks (attention) of the icons (Skype, ICQ etc.) sometimes just disappeares though they are still blinking in Taskbar. Bug?
2. is it possible to launch Date and Time Window by clicking on the calendar icon? I have done it with additional shortcut, but I think there should be more straight way.
3. is it possible to show ObjectDock using hotkey? Same question is unanswered here
   
4. is it possible to change icons of running programs?
5. is it possible to change text color in Weather docklet? Too hard to read white letters on white icons with clouds, snow and fog
6. is it legal to make portable version of free ObjectDock?

First and foremost, I would like to see the bugs in ObjectDock addressed. Many have been around for a long time. There are also a lot of us Vista 64bit users out there.

As for added functionality, I'd like the following:

- have the option to drag/drop icons onto a folder shortcut and have the icon go to that folder instead of being added to the dock.
- change the default location that ObjectDock starts to browse from. All my icons are located at "C:\Windows\Icons"
- animated icons without needing a third pardy docklet
- the ability to lock each dock individually
- a working system tray dock, with the ability to hide icons
- the ability to set the number of icons wide/tall a dock is as well as proportionate settings. In other words, let me tell the dock to be 2 icons wide or 3 icons tall. A proportionate setting of 2:3 would be 2x3 icons with six icons, 2x4 with seven icons, 3x5 with 14 icons, etc.
- have the ability to sort the file order in a folder shortcut menu
- be able to specify the width/height of each separator
- Allow ObjectDock to run as a 64bit application on 64bit OS's

 

I have a question, since I have never used OD+ to it's full potential, and I have been using it for years. Can you show icons for open windows AND the tray AT THE SAME TIME!?!?!?!?

It appears that the option for (1) ICONS ONLY, (2) ICONS AND TRAY or (3) ICONS AND OPEN WINDOWS.

I want to replace the Vista x64 tray completely, and with the |||   Impulse uninstall of OD+, reboot, the SDC install and installation of OD+ 1.90b537u (beta), |||    I have support for x64 without problems.

But, it appears that I cannot show my open windows, my icons for opening programs, and the tray at the same time.

Is this a new feature for OD2, whenever it is released? It seems all 3 functions should be able to function simulataneously.

Can anyone give an answer to this? How can I get OD+ to do what I want, plus, it is capable of doing these functions.

Perhaps it will be good if I mention the problem I'm having here.

 

Okay first it might help if I showed this link http://vantan.org/images/031101_objectdock.gif  the icons on the far right for the clock, system preferences, ObjectDock preferences and even the icon that looks like a blue house -- I want to get these icons or docklets but don't know what their names are or how to locate and download them.

I originally had them on my PC via the Object Dock Gallery (thanks to ObjectDock 1.0 to which I updated from to 1.9 while still keeping those docklets. Howevver, at some point unfortunately my PC became corrupted and infected with viruses and I had to do a clean reinstall of Win XP and then install the latest version of ObjectDock which did not have these docklets already included. If someone could let me know where I can find these docklets (have tried www.wincustomize.com) and a few other sites but have not yet been able to locate the actual icons separately.

 

If someone who has them can upload the image for me to MegaUpload or SendSpace etc and then post the link here -- or let me know where I can download them and give me a link that would be great.

One problem I have with ObjectDock is, that it conflicts with PortableApps.com

I can start one application using the PortableApps-launcher and even open that launcher again, but all subsequent mouseclicks don't work.

It works fine when the standard Windows taskbar is enabled.

Maybe worth testing for OD2?

    Hello, I have only one problem with my docks. I made an icon out of "C:\Windows\System32\taskmgr.exe", and it seems that everytime I open task manager the docks are stuck and after closing task manager they are still stuck for like 20 secs.

(I'm using Vista 32 Ultimate.)

Any ideea would be appreciated on how to open task manager without objectdock to be stuck. Thank you

i am using a windows vista 32-bit home premium on an acer laptop aspire 6920 .

when i install the application , it installs successfully , when i run it , it gives me a messgae OD has stopped working , i tried uninstall , reboot , install again , nothin worked .. please help !

I'll disregard the demanding tone of your post *this time*... But please, consider being more polite in any future posts.

You need to find and install a docklet for that.

Docklets are extracted into the "Docklets" folder in your OD installation folder.
