What's wrong with ObjectDock

I keep wanting to like ObjectDock, but I just can't get past how poorly it moves. I have a 3.2 ghz machine, and it makes OD unusable. Whenever my mouse gets close to the dock, it pops out in a single frame and then pops off right away.

I've tried setting the animation to slow and smoother, but it still goes WAAAAAY too fast. Why can't I put my own animation speed in as a value and not a choice of 3 presets? I want it moving like 20 times slower. Now it's just clunky and ugly.

Also, it sure would be nice to have a delay or mouse sensitivity setting or something. I like having a dock, but I don't want it being activated all the time when my mouse accidentally hits the side of the screen.

Since there just aren't any settings for any of this, I always end up going back to Y'z Dock, which has them and works so much smoother.

I used to be on a 1 ghz proc and the only problems I had were the sweeping across was jerky and the dock reacted even below other windows.

Now with a 2400+,the animation is very smooth, but the dock still activates below windows so I set it to autohide.Except for accidental mousing into the top of the screen,I am having no probs whatsoever.(I can touch the very last row of pixels before it activates)

You might be having a video driver prob

I've tried this on several machines that are new and it just moves too fast.

I like the way nobody ever has an answer to this. I've tried the Stardock newsgroup and I just get a whole bunch of "You're just doing something wrong" answers, but never "Hey! New features would be nice! I want to have more options, too!"

I have problems with premature mouseculation, myself. It is actually quite common, or at least that is what I am telling the Wife. Actually I run into something similar, with accidentally straying while scrolling when reading and Draggin Top 2 Bottom. I invariably stray from side to side, whilst holding the scroollbar locked (nasty habbit actually.)
I also have the same problem with Highlite and copy (swipe and click.) Where I am sloppy in execution and unfortunately OD is quite quick in doing it's task. It needs a little bit of the ability to poll, to see if it is actually being called into action or was simply been moused over in the process of some other action, or repetative action.

This can be done in ObjectDock Plus. Open properties, select hotspots, select the "zones" you wish to activate the dock and the activation delay you like.

Thanks guys. I'd try OD Plus for the delay stuff, but I'm not going to buy it because of the lack of speed controls.

Have fun with Y'z Dock...hope you never need new features or more options.
