Shortcut Overlay Problem

Does anyone know why shortcut overlays would start showing up on some on my desktop icons? I haven't changed anything and I don't have it checked in the setting s to show these. I also have it changed within my registry to eliminate them as well. I now have 3 icons with the overlays attached to them and for the life of me I cannot figure out how to get rid of them again.

If you're using IP, did you try "rebuild your icon cache" in tools?

Yes...did that...even tried fooling the system by applying the shortcut and then removing it again. And the wierd thing is...it's only on my Stardock, WinCustomize icons and just one other unrelated to either of those. Was just going to try a system restore and see if that would work.

Hi Travis...I already have the shortcuts removed through my registry...so really there shouldn't anything there. I also have all the right checks in place in the tweak manager within stardock central to stop it from there as well...I think its just the damn icon gremlins at it again...but hey...I'll give that tweakui thingy a try just for the hell of it...can't hurt...can it?

Oh yeah...the tweakui thingy does pretty much the same thing as all the other settings I have. I just can't get them to go away!
