Microsoft promotes sharing files and music.

Found on the following http://groups.msn.com/people when using the Dutch language: "Deel bestanden of muziek, bel een vriend mobiel - je gaat naar MSN Messenger downloaden."

This roughly translates to: "Share files or music, call a friend on a cellular - you download MSN Messenger."

Isn't that interesting? After all the fuzz this has caused lately, MSN/Microsoft now actually promotes sharing files and music.

Music yes! i dont see anything wrong with that due to all problems in past "probably be music like mp3.com", but files O_o sounds a bit dodgy.

Maybe it's only ok to share music and files if you're using MSN j/k

There is absolutely NO law against the sharing of files or music.....provided you have purchased the rights of distribution....which, of course, people have not....

Doing it on a one to one basis, like through an IM software such as MSN or ICQ, is really no different than making a tape copy of a record, as has been done since tapes were put on the market. Although both still illegal in theory, it will never represent any impact on the overall number of sales of a record. Music distribution on such a small scale is negligable.  Nothing in comparision with broad distribution with Kazaa or the likes.

But, on the same topic, I do find it funny when I watch a cable company commercial on TV selling their Internet service with, among their argument "Download music very fast!"
