Which Monitor do you have?

I have just replaced my ageing 17 inch Mitsubishi Diamond Pro with a 15 inch Hercules ProphetView LCD. I opted for this model as i found it gave one of the clearest and best quality pictures around compared with all the others i looked at.

So what are you guys running for monitors and what would you recommend for others who are diving into the LCD/TFT market.

I've got a 17" Scepter. I need to upgrade! Hopefully I'll get a LCD one or something like that. I've found that the perfect size of monitor for me is a 16". Kind of a wierd size that you dont find very often. I've only ever seen one and it was very nice. I cent even remember who makes it but I really liked it. Its too bad I couldnt convince my folks to get it.

I have a 19" CTX and a 17" Hitachi. Both connected to Matrox DualHead. I don't have money for LCD screens yet and I like to run at least one of them in 1600*1200. A lot of monitors contain Sony Trinitron tubes which I find ugly. I cannot get used to these two horizontal black thin lines which every Trinitron tube seems to have. Once you've seen those two scan lines they are starting to get annoying.

I use a 19" MAG CRT Flat Screen. It's an excellent monitor and only costs $200 at Best Buy. It came with a rebate offer at the time I got it so the total cost for me was $150. LCD monitors are much more expensive and don't seem to have that much color to them. LCDs are great if you don't have enough room for a great big CRT I suppose.

I agree. When i was in college, our computer programming lab had five computers with those type of monitors. I could not help but take notice of those black lines.

Gateway 2000 17" Crystal Scan with all the adjustments.

I would like a flat screen, but this, though slightly curved, isn'too bad and it was free.

kona, that's the one I want when I get the 17 Ti powerbook.

23 inch HD Cinema Display... it is freaking sweet, there are some others who make them just as nice or even better but thier pricing is bloated even more than apples.

An ancient Gateway 17", from when 17" monitors were only just starting to appear. It's blurry and the black level controls don't work anymore, hence a certain skin of mine coming out looking like it had been 'bleached' without my realising. I've since installed PowerStrip and managed to get a half decent gamma fix, despite losing about half of my colour range in the process, so everything's coming out with contrast for once.

I'll hopefully be upgrading by the end of the year to a 22" Mitsubishi DiamondTron though.
